🎣 Casting Hope and Fun — SAVF Thabazimbi Fishing Competition 2025
There’s something truly special about a community coming together — and on 27 September 2025, that’s exactly what happened at our annual SAVF Thabazimbi Fishing Competition. The early morning mist lifted over the dam, rods were ready, bait boxes filled, and the excited chatter of participants could be heard long before the first fish was caught.
It was a day filled with sunshine, laughter, and the kind of togetherness that reminds us what community spirit is all about. Families, friends, and fishing enthusiasts from all corners joined in for some friendly competition — and, of course, to support a great cause.
As the only non-profit statutory family organization serving our region, SAVF Thabazimbi plays an important role in helping families and children who rely on our services. Events like this fishing competition help us raise much-needed funds to continue providing care, protection, and support to those who need it most. Every entry, donation, and word of encouragement makes a real difference — and for that, we are so deeply grateful.
Of course, no successful event happens without incredible support, and we would like to extend a huge thank you to all our sponsors and donors who made this special day possible. Your generosity helped with prizes, refreshments, and all the little details that turned the day into something unforgettable.
💙 A big thank you to:
Roots • Kransberg Auto Spares • Magic Baits • Boog en Hengel • Arielle du Plessis • SAVF Board • Christelle Barnard • Dennekruin hengeloord • Roodekoppies Hengeloord • Thabazimbi Sports • Ecovet • Jasper from Sperowsence • Chatz • Buco • Inkulu Community Foundation • Hervormde Kerk Vliegepoort • Megs • Midas • Janine en Kobus Koekemoer and Setaria Hengelklub.
Your kindness helped us not only host a fun-filled event, but also cast a much wider net of hope across our community.
The day ended with proud smiles, fish tales (some true, some definitely exaggerated!), and plenty of memories made along the water’s edge. We were reminded once again that when our community comes together — with open hearts and helping hands — there’s no limit to what we can achieve.
From all of us at SAVF Thabazimbi, thank you for your participation, your donations, and your ongoing support. Together, we are making a difference — one cast at a time. 🐟💙
