It is with deep sadness and great concern that we at SAVF National Office 001-446 NPO have been following the devastating news of the killings of several women in and around Kempton Park over the past two months.

Behind every victim is a family, a loved one, a friend and a community left with unimaginable pain. These tragic acts of violence remind us once again of the urgent need to stand together against gender-based violence and violence in all its forms.

As an organisation built on Compassion at the Core, we cannot remain indifferent when lives are lost and families are shattered.
This Friday, we invite every SAVF staff member and volunteer to wear BLACK as a simple but powerful expression of:

🖤 Respect for those whose lives have been taken.
🖤 Support for their families, loved ones and communities.
🖤 Solidarity with all women and children affected by violence.
🖤 A stand against violence and a call for safer communities.

Are you a family, child, elderly person, or community member in Thabazimbi in need of assistance or support? You are always welcome to visit the SAVF Thabazimbi office and speak to one of our Social Workers, or reach out to us for assistance. 🤝

Our Social Workers provide a range of services, including guardianship assistance, primary care assistance, early intervention services, prevention services, statutory services along with group work and community work programmes for our community. We are here to walk alongside individuals and families through difficult circumstances, while promoting safety, dignity, wellbeing and empowerment. 🌱

At SAVF Thabazimbi, we care for families, children and the elderly with compassion, commitment and so much love. ❤️ Our goal is not only to assist during times of crisis, but also to build stronger families, healthier relationships and a more caring community.

Today, in honour of Nelson Mandela Day, SAVF Thabazimbi had the privilege of participating in a meaningful outreach programme at the SASSA Local Office in Regorogile. Together with dedicated officials from the Department of Social Development (DSD), Home Affairs, and SASSA, we came together to share a small act of kindness with the community.

As community members visited the office throughout the day, we welcomed everyone with soup, freshly baked buns, fruit, and snacks. From mothers and young children to older persons and every individual who walked through the gates, it was our way of spreading warmth, compassion, and hope during the cold winter season.

Nelson Mandela reminded us that every person has the power to make a difference. Today was a reminder that even the simplest acts of service can bring comfort, restore dignity, and strengthen the spirit of ubuntu within our communities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the stakeholders who joined hands to make this outreach programme possible. Through collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to serving others, we were able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many community members. Your dedication truly embodies the spirit of Nelson Mandela Day.
