BACKGROUND
Light Giving Foundation was established in 2019 in the Gauteng Province with a strong commitment to supporting disadvantaged communities and uplifting vulnerable families. Since its inception, the organisation has actively engaged in humanitarian initiatives aimed at reducing poverty and empowering individuals through education, social development, and community support.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation played a vital role in assisting poverty-stricken families by paying rent for those who had lost employment and providing groceries to affected households.
In 2022, the Foundation partnered with the Rabie Ridge Social Department to assist a family that had lost a loved one to cancer. The deceased had no identity document or funeral cover, and the Foundation provided financial assistance for travel and funeral arrangements.
That same year, Light Giving Foundation donated food parcels to several orphanages in Tembisa and distributed full school uniforms to learners at Mayibuye Primary School. The Foundation also donated 200 blankets to orphanage homes across Gauteng, including Tumelo Home for the Disabled.
In 2023, the organisation expanded its footprint to the Limpopo Province, led by Mr. Prince Mageza, Ms. Porshia Myeni, Mr. Believe Maringa, and Ms. MarryGold Masonto.
