Kekakgo Foundation

Kekakgo Foundation Kekakgo Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization
founded in February 2021 by Kedibone Bonoko. OUR PROJECTS
1.

She has a passion for giving back, hope and
bettering peoples’ lives. She is a stage 4 cancer
survivor also awarded Global Hero of Hope by the
American Cancer Society for the immense work
she has embarked in educating her community on
the dangers, causes, symptoms, treatment, and
myths about cancer. Her passion for charity and
giving back to the community has empowered her
to start

Kekakgo Foundation which is focused on
Rebuilding Hope by empowering communities
through training, employment, and skills
development. The foundation has various projects providing
opportunities, resources and skills for people living
with a disability, health awareness and impacting
the community with sustainable programmes. Through her passion, she saw the need to focus
on the above-mentioned projects because her
family struggled to find something for her nephew
to do after completing Year4 at a special school. She is a cancer survivor and wants to educate her
community on health awareness and assist her
community when there could be a natural
disaster. She has partnered and worked with various
recognized organizations like The Nelson Mandela
Foundation, TigerBrands, Arebaokeng Hospice,
Dhladhla Foundation and The Cancer Association
of South Africa to bring change, hope, awareness,
and opportunities to disadvantaged communities
in South Africa. Kekakgo Foundations’ core
function is to better the lives of disadvantaged
communities in South Africa. Kekakgo means
(Building) which is extracted from her name and
sons’ names; KEdibone, KAtlego and KGOthatso =
KEKAKGO. The Foundation is based in Gauteng,
Ekurhuleni Region. OUR VISION
Is to Rebuild Hope, provide support and opportunities to disadvantaged communities in South Africa. OUR VALUES
● Humility
● Independence.
● Compassion.
● Equality.
● Transparency. OBJECTIVES
• The foundation is committed in providing a platform for Health, Education, Early Childhood
Development and People with Disability projects in South African disadvantaged communities.
• The foundation will promote these projects through social entrepreneurship, workshops,
mentoring, networking, campaigns, training, and skills development.
• The foundation aims to give hope to youth living with an Intellectual/learning disability and other
health challenges by acquiring them with skills, work and learnership opportunities.
• Through strategic partnerships with public and private sponsors, other non-profit organizations,
and corporate social investment we will create events and opportunities to advance the interest
and needs of communities.
• To encourage skills development programmes for people living with disabilities as well as equal
opportunities for gainful education and employment.
• To effectively partner with other non-profit organizations and stakeholders who share the same
vision as us. SCHOOL LEAVING PROGRAMME- The programme is focused on rebuilding hope and giving
opportunities to persons living with a learning disability. We are equipping them with skills
development programmes, social skills training, learnerships and employment. We are focusing on
this specific disability because they are disadvantaged due to not being able to obtain Matric,
which is regarded one of the criteria to seek employment or apply for higher education in South
Africa. Our Government and Education system has no adequate facilities which can accommodate or
cater the disability. Some our beneficiaries are fortunate to have attended “Special Schools’ which
are focused on skills development rather than academics. We live in a time where employment is scarce and having a skill guarantees you a better life. Our
goal is to build a Training Centre and take over from where the Special Schools left off and
advance them with training and skills development and far see them as ENTERPRENEURS. We currently have +/- 20 beneficiaries placed at learnerships with 4 of our stakeholders. The hope
is for them to obtain certification which can assist with employment or starting their own
businesses in the following sectors.
• Beauty Care
• Manufacturing
• Artisan
• Hygiene and cleaning services
• Food and hospitality
• Courier
• Agriculture
• Partnerships with stakeholders that provide skills
development.

2. WELLNESS DAY PROGRAMME: Health Awareness programme focused on mental health, testing,
awareness campaigns, workshops, and wellness days. The end goal is to have a Centre where
disadvantaged communities can be educated, tested, and assisted with chronic diseases., myths,
procedures.
