August is Women's Month in South Africa — a time to honour the courage, strength, and contributions of women across every sphere of life. And there is nowhere more important to celebrate the women who show up, day after day, than at Sparrows Children's Home.
Our home is held together by the women who:
🤍 Care for children who have been through unimaginable hardship, and love them back to health.
🤍 Lead with compassion and wisdom, making the hard decisions that keep our home running.
🤍 Teach our children that they are worthy, capable, and deserving of a bright future.
🤍 Protect the safety and dignity of every child under our roof.
🤍 Advocate for the rights and futures of vulnerable children in our community.
These women don't always get the recognition they deserve. They work early mornings and late nights, weekends and holidays, often through their own exhaustion, because a child needs them.
This Women's Month, we celebrate YOU — the women of Sparrows. You are the pillars of this home, and we wouldn't be who we are without you. 💜
