DR IMTIAZ SOOLIMAN TO HELP SHAPE AFRICA’S NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS 🇿🇦
One of South Africa’s most respected humanitarian leaders has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Albert Luthuli Leadership Institute at the University of Pretoria.
The Institute is named in honour of Chief Albert Luthuli, the teacher, leader and first African recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. His legacy was built on dignity, justice, service and principled leadership.
Today, the Institute works to develop a new generation of responsible African leaders through research, postgraduate education, short courses and engagement with society.
Its focus includes responsible leadership, development practice, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and finding leadership solutions to complex social, environmental and economic challenges.
This is where Dr Imtiaz Sooliman’s appointment becomes particularly meaningful.
Through Gift of the Givers, he has spent decades turning leadership principles into action. He has led teams through humanitarian emergencies, mobilised people and resources, built trust across communities and shown what service-centred leadership looks like under enormous pressure.
His role on the Advisory Board will allow him to contribute experience, wisdom and practical insight to the Institute’s direction, leadership education and wider societal work.
This is more than another title.
It is an opportunity for the lessons learned on the front lines of humanitarian service to help influence the leaders who will make some of Africa’s most important decisions in the future.
Congratulations, Dr Sooliman. A worthy appointment for a remarkable South African. 🙏🇿🇦
