From FoodForward Ingredients to Happy Tummies!

Today in our Bokamoso Ba Bana Ba Rona Aftercare Programme, our team got creative in the kitchen!

Using ingredients received through FoodForward SA, we prepared delicious pizzas and fresh buns for our learners.

It’s more than just a meal it’s about making sure our children feel cared for, supported and welcomed while they learn and grow. Thank you, FoodForward SA, for helping us turn food into nourishment, smiles and meaningful moments for our learners! 🙏🏽❤️

Harmful online communities can normalize misogyny, reinforce rigid ideas about masculinity and contribute to attitudes and behaviours that put women and girls at risk.

That is why online misogyny is a violence prevention issue, and why safer digital spaces are central to how we .

A Heartfelt Thank You to AVBOB CSI

Today, we are filled with gratitude!

A huge thank you to AVBOB CSI for their generous donation of programme and office furniture valued at R25 000. Your contribution has transformed our working and programme spaces and has brought comfort, functionality and dignity to our organisation.

From our new office furniture and comfortable chairs to our cupboards and sound equipment, every item will make a meaningful difference in the work we do.

As our team continues to grow, the need for a proper and functional working environment has grown too. We are truly grateful to AVBOB CSI for seeing that need and responding with such generosity.

Thank you for believing in our work and for investing in a space where our team can continue to serve our community with passion and purpose.

AVBOB CSI, your generosity has helped us build more than an office you have helped us create a better working environment for a growing team and stronger programmes for our community. ❤️

HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY – 09 AUGUST

Today, we celebrate Women’s Day in South Africa by remembering and honouring the courageous women of 1956 who stood together against the oppressive pass laws of the apartheid era.

On 9 August 1956, more than 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, presenting a petition against laws that restricted the freedom and movement of Black South Africans. Their powerful message of courage, unity and resistance became an important part of our country’s history.

We honour the women who stood up for freedom, dignity, equality and justice. Their bravery reminds us that when women stand together, they can create change that reaches generations.

Today, we salute all women mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, caregivers, leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, educators and community builders — who continue to make a difference in our families and communities.

We remember the women of 1956.
We honour their courage.
We celebrate the women of today.
And we inspire the women of tomorrow. 💜🌸

May we continue to build a South Africa where every woman and girl can live with dignity, equality, safety and opportunity.

Happy Women’s Day! 🇿🇦🌸

A Day of Connection, Laughter & Healing

Yesterday, our team had such a beautiful and much-needed team-building experience at Renegades. What started with a hike quickly became a journey of teamwork, laughter and supporting one another!

Some slipped, some fell, some struggled up the trail but nobody was left behind. We encouraged one another, laughed together, reached out a helping hand and reminded ourselves that we are stronger when we walk together.

We also explored our creative side through painting 🎨. Each team member created a painting and had the opportunity to present and share the meaning behind their artwork. It was amazing to see the different stories, emotions and perspectives that came through in each painting.

As a team working with communities and dealing with difficult and sometimes hurtful cases, we also need moments to breathe, reconnect, laugh and take care of one another.

A heartfelt thank you to the Department of Social Development for making this debrief and team-building opportunity possible. We truly needed it.

Yesterday reminded us that behind every programme, report and case is a team of people who also need support, connection and space to recharge.

We laughed. We connected. We supported. We created. We grew.
