VERY BIG OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL WASTE ENTREPRENEURS! 📢💰🇿🇦

Are you running a small business, a local buy-back centre, or a recycling project in your community? Then today is your day to step up! 🟢

Today, the DFFE is officially going live with the brand-new WEERSA smart platform.

We know that the real heroes of our waste economy aren't sitting in massive boardrooms—they are working hard on the ground in our townships and local neighbourhoods, turning waste into jobs and feeding families.

This new platform was built specifically to link your small business directly to the national grid.

Here is how WEERSA changes the game for your business:

✅ Unlocks Funding: It acts as a direct link to inform you about government funding, grants, and empowerment opportunities.

✅ Puts You on the Map: It registers your business in an official repository so major industry players, stakeholders, and clients can easily find and trade with you.

✅ Knowledge Hub: Gives you direct access to sector trends, training material, and tools to help your business grow.

No matter how small your operation is right now, your work matters to the green economy!

Register your business for free today and get connected: 🔗👇🏽

Spread the word to your local business groups, and let's grow our local economies together! 🙌🏽💚

It is no surprise to us that South Africa has a broken waste management system. Have you watched our pilot podcast where Anton Hanekom and Bala Nengovhela of SALGA, explore the systemic challenges facing municipalities, the realities on the ground and what needs to change?

Join us in helping!

🌍✨𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬

Today we join the world in celebrating World Volunteer Day, a global moment dedicated to honouring the incredible people who give their time, energy, passion, and kindness to uplift others.

This year’s theme - “𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀” - could not be more true for our Sweethearts family. Every bottle top, every bread tag, every coffee cup lid, every aluminium can tab, every kilometre driven, every story shared, every hand that sorts, lifts, counts, or encourages…
𝐈t a𝐥l m𝐚t𝐭e𝐫s.
𝐈t a𝐥l c𝐡a𝐧g𝐞s l𝐢v𝐞s.

To every volunteer who has helped us bring mobility, dignity, and independence to hundreds of South Africans:

💛 𝐓h𝐚n𝐤 𝐲o𝐮 𝐟o𝐫 𝐭h𝐞 𝐥o𝐯e y𝐨u g𝐢v𝐞.
💛 T𝐡a𝐧k y𝐨u f𝐨r t𝐡e t𝐢m𝐞 𝐲o𝐮 𝐬h𝐚r𝐞.
💛 T𝐡a𝐧k y𝐨u f𝐨r b𝐞i𝐧g t𝐡e h𝐞a𝐫t𝐛e𝐚t o𝐟 𝐨u𝐫 𝐦i𝐬s𝐢o𝐧.

You are proof that real change doesn’t come from grand gestures - it comes from ordinary people doing extraordinary things together.

𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑽𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒂𝒚!
