Love to Give / Stellenbosch Community Development Programme

Love to Give / Stellenbosch Community Development Programme We have vegetable gardens, training, mentorship, counselling and book-sharing. Here, children are at risk.

We feed 2000 children daily, provide internships for unemployed youths and 100 monthly food parcels for unemployed women for six months on our Sustainable Livelihoods Programme. We are a non-profit, public-benefit organisation, in Kayamandi, on the edge of Stellenbosch. In this peri-urban area the majority of residents (45 000) live in informal settlements and in dire poverty. This, coupled with

a high incidence of illiteracy and HIV/Aids, makes Kayamandi a community in desperate need of assistance. More than 2000 small chlidren in two primary shools and approximatley 828 children in 30 crèches depend each day on us and our donors. We run nutritional meal programmes on a daily basis at these schools and 30 crèches and also provide food support to 100 families. It has been proven that children who have something to eat have improved concentration and perform better academically and in their relationships. We run a vegetable garden, a craft club, and health care and life skills programme. We do all of this with the support of loyal local and overseas donors and major SA corporate donors. This support ensures the benefits of health-sustaining daily nutrition.

Urgent appeal!! Rain isn't always a blessing when you are without a home and lost all your belongings.
We urgently need clothes for children of different ages, as well as for the adults they live with who recently lost their homes and all their belongings, except for what they were wearing, during a fire in Nkanini, Kayamandi.
If you can help with clothes, bedding or shoes, please contact us urgently at Love to Give. If you can't deliver, we can come and collect.
