Caring Circle of Sisters for the elderly

Every Thursday morning, the Sea Vista Community Hall fills with warmth, laughter, and friendship as senior citizens and physically challenged members of the community gather for tea, games, prayer, singing, dancing, stretch classes, creative activities, and a hot meal.

These gatherings are made possible through the dedication of the Caring Circle of Sisters, an informal group of women who generously give their time, energy, and compassion to create meaningful and joyful experiences for all who attend.

In a world where older persons and people living with physical challenges are too often overlooked, these collective artworks celebrate their creativity, dignity, and value.

Participants recently enjoyed an intuitive drawing workshop facilitated by local artist Kat Raczek. They were delighted to donate these artworks to the 100 Small Paintings Fundraiser, knowing that their contributions will help sustain the weekly gatherings they cherish so deeply.

🎾 Help Us Give Our Sea Vista Tennis Youth Professional Coaching 🎾

For 2 years we’ve been running free tennis for Sea Vista kids with dedicated volunteers. We now have 18 kids aged 8-12 and 16 youth aged 13-18. None of the kids pay for lessons, and the tennis club kindly lets us use the courts on Mondays & Wednesdays. Our volunteers don’t get paid.

We’ve reached the point where 5 of our older youth need proper coaching to keep growing.

Amazing news: Professional coach Di Gascoyne has agreed to coach these 5 players at a huge discount 🙏
This is her business, so while she can’t coach for free, she’s making it as affordable as possible for us.

What we need: Funds to pay Di
💰 R1,360 – R1,700 per month, depending on how many Wednesdays there are

Every rand helps us give these committed young players the coaching they deserve.

Can you help?
📲 Please DM Stella – 071 144 6175

Thank you for supporting our Sea Vista tennis family!

🌊 Volunteer Update – Art of Living Kids Leadership Program 🌿

We run a leadership training program for some of the Sea Vista children.
On Saturday, we took them out for a pre-camping day trip:

🚣‍♂️ Swimming & canoeing at the river
🔥 Campfire with toasted bread
⛺ Taught them how to pitch a tent

At first, they were a bit scared to get inside the tent, but once each one tried it, they all said it was peaceful and lovely inside not scary at all! One young boy even said it felt like a 5-star hotel ⭐

🙏 What we’re needing now:
Life jackets 🦺
Camping mats for inside the tents.
Sleeping bags 😴
Campfire Jaffel maker
Camping plates, cups , spoons
Food for Camping day and night
Transport money for the kids

If anyone has any of these to donate please contact Stella on 071 144 6175. Or
Ninon 082 600 8117

Thank you for helping us give these kids safe and unforgettable experiences!

Beach Day = Best Day! 🌊🏄‍♀️⚽

We’re volunteers from Art of Living and we ran an All Round Training in Excellence course for some of our awesome Sea Vista youth which is part of our leadership training. We do weekly follow-ups with them and take them on outings to keep the good vibes going.

This past Saturday was boogie-boarding at the beach! Funny thing is, when we first mentioned it, we got a lot of “No thanks, not for me.” Fast forward to Saturday… 12 of them rocked up! 😎

They started off nervous, but that lasted about 2 minutes. Next thing we knew they were riding waves like pros for HOURS, then took the stoke to the sand for a solid soccer match.

Huge thanks to Barry from the bakery for the bread, Godfrey for sponsoring cheese & tomato, and Ninon for the healthy homemade jam. We stacked up cheese-tomato sarmies and peanut butter & jam for the crew.

Shout out to Maria, Ninon, Sue, Lia and Jo who were in the water with them, and Stella who was our eagle-eyed lifeguard from the top with Glenn and Etienne cheering them on. Safe, salty, sandy, and smiling - they LOVED the outing!

✨ Sea Vista Youth Leadership – Celebrating Initiative & Heart 🌿

We had the privilege of working with 20 incredible prefects from Sea Vista School through the Art of Living Art Excel programme. It was a truly special few days focused on building confidence, leadership, responsibility and connection.

To encourage initiative and positive action, we introduced a simple “star system” giving stars to learners who stepped forward, helped without being asked, picked up litter, or volunteered to participate. It was beautiful to see how quickly they embraced this, supporting one another and showing real leadership from within.

At the end of the programme, we celebrated the top 4 learners with a small outing, a healthy milkshake at De N**e and a visit to the beach 🌊 as a way to acknowledge their effort and inspire continued growth.

The intention was not just reward, but to reinforce that leadership is shown in everyday actions, kindness, courage and taking initiative.

We are so proud of each and every one of them 💛

A very belated post (oops! 😄) but one filled with huge gratitude 💛
Last year, Clive from Chokka Block went above and beyond by cooking and sponsoring delicious meals for our elderly and physically challenged community in Sea Vista not once, but twice for our Thursday gatherings in 2025.
The Caring Circle of Sisters would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Clive and his wonderful staff for the incredible meals they so generously prepared and gifted.
Your kindness, generosity, and good food truly warmed both hearts and bellies! 🍽️✨

💖 A very special thank you to Sarah from Dune Ridge Country House 💖
Sarah and the incredible team at Dune Ridge truly spoilt the elderly and physically challenged group from Sea Vista. Our wonderful volunteers transported the group to Dune Ridge, where Sarah generously sponsored their Christmas lunch celebration 🎄🍽️
The staff went above and beyond preparing a delicious meal and beautifully decorating the dining hall to make everyone feel so welcome and valued ✨🌸
We are also deeply grateful to our amazing St Francis Bay community 🤍 for the generous donations. Thanks to you, every person received a Christmas goodie bag 🎁 and a little extra money to help make their Christmas even more special 🎅💫
Community kindness like this is what makes the season truly magical 💚
