WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATED THROUGH NETBALL!!

Diski Nine9 celebrated Women’s Day in style with the launch of our Netball League in Ennerdale, Region G.

The league will run for six months, creating a safe and positive platform for girls and young women to participate in sport, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and strengthen friendships within their communities.

Through this initiative, we aim to encourage more girls to take part in sport, promote healthy lifestyles, and use sport as a powerful tool for empowerment and social development.

We are excited to see our young girls take the court, showcase their talent and grow both on and off the court.

NYS Phase 5 Youth Orientation and Work Experience Programme

Diski Nine9 conducted an orientation session for unemployed young people participating in the NYS Phase 5 Project. The orientation introduced participants to the objectives, expectations, responsibilities, and opportunities available through the programme.

As part of the project, Diski Nine9 has partnered with Sports for Social Change Network Africa (SSCN Africa) to support the placement and development of unemployed youth. Participants will be deployed to various local businesses and community-based organisations where they will gain practical workplace experience and develop valuable skills.

The work-experience component is designed to provide young people with exposure to real working environments, including professional conduct, communication, teamwork, time management, customer service, administration, and other workplace skills relevant to their placements.

Through these placements, the programme aims to bridge the gap between unemployment and meaningful economic participation by giving young people practical experience that can strengthen their CVs, improve their employability, and prepare them for future employment or entrepreneurship opportunities.

Diski Nine9 and SSCN Africa will continue to provide support, coordination, and monitoring throughout the placement period to ensure that participating youth receive meaningful learning and work-experience opportunities.

The Mental Health and Wellness Workshop. It was encouraging to see the children actively participate, ask questions, and engage confidently throughout the workshop. I believe we need more workshops like this, as they equip children with essential life skills, strengthen their mental well-being, and provide the guidance they need to overcome everyday challenges and make positive choices.

Empowering Young Minds Through Mental Health & Wellness

On 1 August 2026, children from Diski Nine9 Africa attended a Mental Health and Wellness Workshop at the Ennerdale Civic Centre.

The workshop was an engaging and inspiring experience where the children learned valuable life skills, explored the importance of emotional well-being, and participated in activities that encouraged confidence, self-awareness, and healthy communication.

A special thank you to Ms. Noko Maega, a professional Social Worker, for leading the session with care, expertise, and compassion. Her guidance created a safe and supportive environment where every child felt encouraged to participate and learn.

This was the first of several sessions that our children will attend as part of our commitment to promoting positive mental health, resilience, and overall well-being.

Together, we are building stronger, healthier, and more confident young people. 💙
