Emdeni Skills Development Centre

Emdeni Skills Development Centre is a division of Abraham Kriel Bambanani, dedicated to empowering youth through practical skills training & development.

We offer courses in Tiling, Painting, ICDL, and Sewing, equipping students with hands-on experience. Annually 280 students between the ages of 18 and 35 benefit from the skills training courses at the Emdeni Skills Development Centre. The centre offers the following courses:
- End User Computing
- Tunnel Agriculture
- Assistant Chef
- Tiling
- Painting
With each skills training course, students mu

st also take part in the following courses:
- Business Management
- Life Skills
An information Centre is also available where more than 3600 people from the community use the centre yearly for Internet access, ID applications, CVs, photocopying/printing, faxing, government information etc.

On 11 August 2026, we were honoured to be part of the Women’s Month Skills Empowerment Event hosted by Thusanang HIV/Aids Relief Project at the Slovoville Hall.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with women in our community, share information about the skills development opportunities available through our Centre, and showcase how skills can open doors to greater confidence, independence and brighter futures.

We loved meeting women who are ready to learn, grow and invest in themselves. Every new skill is a step towards creating opportunities - and every empowered woman contributes to building a stronger community.

A heartfelt thank you to the organisers for creating a space where women could learn, connect, be inspired and feel empowered. We are proud to play our part in supporting women on their journey towards personal and economic empowerment.

It is always a privilege to step beyond our classrooms and into the heart of the community.

We were honoured to exhibit at the Orlando Community Hall, where we had the opportunity to connect with young people, share the programmes we offer, and inspire them to see the possibilities that come with learning new skills.

Every conversation is a chance to encourage someone to take the first step towards a brighter future. Whether it's gaining practical skills, building confidence, or opening doors to employment and entrepreneurship, we believe that education and skills development have the power to transform lives.

🌱 Learning today. Growing tomorrow.

A group of our Hydroponics (Vegetable Cultivation) students recently had the opportunity to attend a training session on Financial Management, Bookkeeping, and Urban Agriculture Production Systems, aimed at promoting sustainable urban agriculture and food security in the City of Johannesburg.

The experience opened their eyes to the business side of agriculture, showing them that growing food also means growing knowledge, managing resources, and building sustainable opportunities.

Moments like these inspire our students to dream bigger, think beyond the garden, and see the many possibilities that agriculture can offer. We are grateful for opportunities that equip and motivate them with the skills and confidence to cultivate brighter futures.

💫What an incredible experience at the PMF Youth Expo 2026!👏

We were honoured to exhibit at this inspiring event and connect with so many young people eager to invest in their futures. It was a privilege to share information about our skills development programmes, career pathways, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

A big thank you to the organisers, fellow exhibitors, and every young person who visited our stand, asked questions, and showed interest in building a brighter future.

💙 Creating safe spaces for our young Men 💚

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing gentlemen from Global Shapers Johannesburg for visiting our campus and engaging with our boys and young men.

Through meaningful conversations around GBV, masculinity, identity, and emotional wellbeing, our young men were given a safe space to share, reflect, learn, and grow.

Thank you to Team Global Shapers Johannesburg for creating a space where our boys felt heard, respected, and empowered. Conversations like these help shape young men who lead with kindness, responsibility, and respect.
