On 25 March 2026, as we wrapped up the Greater Protea YCPD & CPF Human Rights Day event, we were reminded that human rights are not just words on paper—they are lived experiences. On the day, we stood together—young and old—raised awareness, and strengthened our commitment to dignity, equality, and justice for all. It was especially meaningful to have our elderly community members in attendance, highlighting the importance of inclusion and respect across all generations.
The day was more than just an event—it was a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and promote human rights. We extended our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders who made the event impactful, including Human Rights representatives, JHB District SAPS, Protea SCP Coordinator, SANCA, Teddy Bear Clinic, J**S, Department of Health, Metropolitan, Greater Protea YCPD & CPF, Greater Moroka YCPD, Junior Commissioner Detective Command, Mental Health practitioners, Correctional Services, Community of Safety, VEC, IEC, and many more.
We also extended our heartfelt appreciation to the MC and Co-MC for guiding and coordinating the programme with excellence, ensuring the event flowed smoothly and remained engaging throughout.
We thanked everyone who participated and contributed to making the day meaningful. We carried the spirit beyond the day—the journey continued.
