Soweto Empowerment Network was established in 2006 by Mr. Lucky Matante after he had done extensive research regarding the capacity of people living in Soweto and their buying power. His research led him to look into the alarming rate of poverty and unemployment that is ravishing our community members and how the very same community of Soweto has no support whatsoever from the companies and conglo

merates that are supplying these products to them. None of these companies have ever thought of opening factories in Soweto in order to create employment in the community and it came to his attention to make a difference in the lives of the community members. Themba L. Bhengu, Mrs. Felicia A. Dwadwa, Godfrey Masanabo and Richard Gumede to name a few on the executive panel.
