Imizamo Yethu Zondi

Imizamo Yethu Zondi This page has been started to assist a very special lady with a very big heart named Dudu. She has started this NGO from scratch out of her own home.

We all met Dudu on the 17th July when we got together to celebrate Mandela Day and visited her home in Soweto. Two years ago, Dudu starting speaking about wanting to start a centre for vulnerable children in her neighbourhood – and she has been true to her dream, with the NGO finally becoming a reality recently. She believes that while she doesn’t have much, she can make a difference and improve t

he lives of the children in her community. Many of the children Dudu helps have lost their parents to HIV Aids and are living with their grannies or elder siblings. They are living in no-income families. Dudu's main aim is to ensure these children get a nutritious meal every day, have a few groceries to take home, have shoes on their feet and a jersey on their backs in winter, are attending school and have a safe place to go after school to do homework. She is currently working out of her own home and is using some of her neighbours space as storage. Dudu is incredibly inspiring. She has a wonderfully positive attitude, is a breast cancer survivor and whenever she has any spare money attends a computer training course to improve her admin and business skills. Because this organisation is brand new and literally has NOTHING – Dudu needs all the help she can get. If we all help in a small way here and there, we can make a big difference to her and the children she supports.

Our Story
