The SOMAFCO Young Writers Competition was successfully launched at the Wesleyan Church in Bloemfontein. The dialogue undertaken with grade 10's was rivetting and educational. We need to nurture our future because it is to them that we will one day handover all our toils.

Thanks to the Free State Education Department, the learners and teachers who participated in the program and contributed to its success. We too learnt alot!

The launch of the SOMAFCO Young Writers Competion beckons, there are many prizes to be worn for creatives ideas, for appreciating the past but most importantly for ideas about linking the past and the present for the future. This competition is not about blindly fawning over past heroes,it is about emulating them and surpassing them- believing we can mean the same for future generations. Its about believing in our own potential whilst appreciating our roots.
