On June, 21st 2023 a small group of community members were selected to participate in the 1st phase of the program, which is public engagements.
The objective of this workshop was to introduce the idea of zero waste in the townships.
The Team quickly realised that communities are just as concerned about the environment they live in and are looking for solutions that will bring sustainable change.

Adopt A Community is a Ward based Zero Waste to Landfill initiative, built on the principles of sustainable development.

This initiative is designed to address the socio-economic and environmental challenges in the townships.

In partnership with Holystic Approach Waste Technologies, the ultimate goal is to create "greentownships" with Zero Waste Status by 2030.
