Delayed Post.

On 27 March 2026, we took a stand against drug abuse in Meadowlands Zone 10 and reached out with love, hope, and practical support.

Together with our partners Ikfutsa Lembe NPO and Ikusasa Lethu, we reminded our community that no one is too far gone to be helped, restored, and given a second chance. From mobile showers to free haircuts, refreshments, and words of encouragement, this Drug Abuse Outreach was about restoring dignity and opening doors to a better future.

A special moment was seeing lives touched and about 38 men and boys being assisted with shelter support.

Let us continue to fight this pandemic together and build a safer, healthier community. ✊🏽

A Message of Hope and Urgency

Speaking at the event, Noni Tshabalala, Founder of Ikfutsa Lembe, emphasized the importance of immediate action and support:

β€œHelp is here. It is high time that those who are willing to stop using drugs take that first step. Support systems are available, and recovery is possible.”

Zakes Manda, Founder of Nyeleti Lighthouse, highlighted the severity of the crisis facing communities:

β€œOur community is facing what I call a pandemic. In 1 out of every 3 households, there is either a drug addict or a family directly affected by drug abuse. This outreach program is about offering a second chance in life, a chance for people to say NO to drugs.”

A Call to Action

This outreach program is more than a once-off intervention, it is part of a growing movement to reclaim communities, restore lives, and provide sustainable pathways to recovery.

The organisers call on:
Community members
Local businesses
Government stakeholders
Civil society organisations
to collaborate and scale up efforts in combating drug abuse and supporting rehabilitation initiatives.

Active Ageing in action πŸ’™

On the 13th of March 2026, Dobsonville Kopanong Hall came alive with energy, wisdom, and inspiration as our beloved elders gathered to celebrate healthy living and active lifestyles.

Through this impactful collaboration between Nyeleti Lighthouse and the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, we were reminded that ageing is not about slowing down it’s about continuing to move, connect, and thrive.
