a Wonderful morning with Masikhule and ECD centres Covenant ECD, Kirstys ECD Academy & Aftercare Centre, Incredibles Playschool

I had so much fun with today's theme! 🐶

Covenant ECD visited us at CHEAFRICA Hub, and their theme was pets. So we built DUPLO dogs and added a few loose parts to bring them to life!

I just love seeing little imaginations at work. 💛

At CHEAFRICA, we run three programmes: our Toy Library, Six Bricks and Play2Learn.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are set aside for Play2Learn, when we welcome ECD centres to the Hub for a morning of learning through play.

And wow, how special these mornings are! 💛

Today I had the privilege of welcoming Incredibles Playschool. It is always wonderful to watch the children explore, play and enjoy themselves, but also to see the teachers who are so dedicated to what they do every day.

These mornings warm my heart.

A skipping rope is for skipping… but what else can we do with it? 🤔
How many different ways can you think of using a skipping rope in play?

One toy can be used in so many different ways.

While doing our Toy Library stocktake, we’re rediscovering toys and games and getting new ideas on how we can use them across our programmes.

A toy can be used for language, early maths, creativity, problem-solving or simply for fun.

Sometimes you just need to look at it differently.

That’s the power of play.

Love this playful photo.

Did you know we are about 30 times more likely to laugh when we’re with other people than when we’re alone?

That’s one of the beautiful things about play. Children connect, laugh, communicate and simply enjoy being together.

Sometimes the best learning moments start with laughter and play.

What’s happening at the CHEAFRICA Hub this week?

Another busy week ahead at the Hub!

Monday we’re welcoming visitors.
Tuesday and Thursday our ECD centres join us for Play2Learn mornings.
Our Milkwood Toy Library is busy with its annual stocktake.
And on Saturday, we’ll be supporting Masikhule Fun Walk.

Different activities, but all part of what we love doing – supporting children, learning through play and connecting with our community.
