Thomas House of Hope is a non-profit organisation that aims to give the street people of Somerset West the opportunity to improve their lives with dignity, love and respect. We are a registered NPO: 188-921

At the centre we have implemented programs where the street people can work in exchange for tokens for which they can use for meals, ID books, clothing, toiletries and showers. To share inform

Partnerships have the power to change lives.

Through our partnership with Somerset West Village Garden, homeless adults attending Thomas House of Hope are given the opportunity to participate in meaningful work while rebuilding confidence, routine, and purpose.

So far in 2026, our clients have earned 7,091 tokens through the Village Garden Work-for-a-Reward Programme. These tokens are redeemed at Thomas House of Hope for essential services such as meals, food parcels, clothing, laundry, and assistance with obtaining identity documents.

This partnership is about far more than earning tokens. It is about restoring dignity, creating opportunities, and helping people take meaningful steps towards independence.

During our latest Phoenix Program session, our clients explored the "Garden of Good Qualities focusing on the inner strengths, virtues, and positive traits we can nurture within ourselves.

True transformation begins when we choose to water these positive qualities every day. We are incredibly proud of our clients for their openness, reflection, and dedication to personal growth.

Serving with Love at Thomas House of Hope

There’s something special that happens in a kitchen when hearts are aligned with purpose. Today, our clients stepped up, not just to cook but to serve with love, dignity, and unity.

Every plate prepared carried more than just food. It carried care. It carried hope. It carried the reminder that God provides, and He uses willing hands to do it.

We are so proud to see growth in action men and women taking responsibility, learning new skills, and giving back to others. This is what restoration looks like. This is what community looks like.

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the journey. Lives are being changed, one meal at a time.
