🇿🇦 Happy Nelson Mandela Day!

Today we’re rolling up our sleeves and giving back to a place that means so much to our community… the Lourens River.

We’re excited to share another milestone too. Today we’re officially launching the Lourens River Conservation Society app! 📱

The app gives everyone an easy way to report pollution, stay informed about what’s happening along the river, and become part of protecting this incredible natural space.

If you’re joining us this morning, we’ll meet at the Parking Notice Board at Radloff Park at 09:00. Don’t forget your gloves, boots and secateurs.

Whether you’re joining the clean-up, downloading the app, or simply sharing our message, thank you for helping us make a difference.

Small actions. Big change.

See you at the river! 💚🌿

🌿 What a Difference Two Hours Can Make! 🌿

Yesterday, the Lourens River Conservation Society was privileged to work alongside an incredible group of volunteers during our Alien Vegetation Hack & Litter Clean-up at the Lourens River.

From removing invasive alien plants to collecting bags of litter, every volunteer played an important role in restoring this beautiful river. Together, we’re helping to protect indigenous biodiversity, improve water quality, and create a healthier environment for future generations.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, including our partners Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club and VitroPlant, for making this event such a success. Your time, energy and commitment truly make a difference.

📸 Here are some of our favourite moments from the morning. If you spot yourself in the photos, feel free to tag yourself and share this post!

Together, we can keep the Lourens River thriving. 💙🌿
