To every hand that shows up before sunrise, every uniform worn with pride, every shift that keeps this country moving, today is your day. Happy Workers' Day.

South Africa is rich in hardworking, dedicated people. From the petrol attendant who greets you with a smile at 6am, to the gardener, the groundsman, the housekeeper, the refuse collector; these are the quiet heroes who hold our communities together.

At the Cornal Hendricks Foundation, we believe that leadership isn't reserved for the boardroom. It lives in every workplace, in every worker who shows up with integrity, purpose, and heart. Our mission is to raise up the next generation of leaders. Young people who will one day fill every role in this country with excellence and dignity.

Because a leader isn't defined by their title. They are defined by their character.
United we stand. πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦

Freedom isn't just a date on the calendar. It's the colour of a street, the sound of a community, the hope we carry forward together. It's a reminder that true freedom is built in communities: one act of love, one child uplifted, one door opened at a time. Happy Freedom Day. πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦

Today is Human Rights Day in South Africa.

When we talk about human rights, we often think of the big declarations and the historic moments. But human rights are also found in the small acts that affirm dignity. In a child receiving their first proper pair of shoes. In someone kneeling down to serve with care. In a community coming together to say, "You matter. You are seen. You are worthy."

Human rights aren't just about laws and policies. They're about the fundamental dignity every person deserves. The right to walk safely. The right to attend school with confidence. The right to know that you belong and that your community sees you.

At the Cornal Hendricks Foundation, we believe that real change happens when we serve one another with humility and love. When we create moments that affirm worth. When we build a future where every child can stand tall.

Human Rights Day reminds us that freedom and dignity are not abstract ideas. They live in our actions. In how we show up for each other. In the legacy we choose to build.
Cornal understood this. He knew that the greatest impact happens when we serve with purpose and heart.

Today, let's remember where we've come from and recommit to the future we want to see. A future where every person's dignity is honoured. Where every child knows their worth. Where service becomes our legacy.

A legacy like today's doesn't happen without a village showing up.

The Cornal Hendricks Foundation Legacy Shoe Drive was made possible by the hearts, hands, and generosity of so many. We want to take a moment to say thank you.

First, to Samaritan's Feet SA, thank you for being the source and the heart of this work. Your partnership makes all of this possible, and your commitment to serving children across South Africa continues to inspire us.

To Vivian Broex, thank you for believing in this vision and making it a reality. Your generosity changed lives today.

To MBN Clothing, Pick 'n Pay Wellington, Prolab Printing, GP Consulting (Pretoria), Peach Software (Pretoria), and Caring Daisies (Pretoria), thank you for your support and partnership.

To Pastor Sambo, Devon Williams, Stedman Gans, Sidney Tobias, Mr Williams, Mr Moss, Lucretia, and Shaun Wuister, thank you for showing up and serving with such care and commitment.

To Wellington Museum and the Drakenstein Fire and Rescue Department, thank you for being part of our community effort.

To Daniela Gouws Photography, thank you for capturing the moments that will remind us why we do this work.

To Louise and her group, thank you for your incredible volunteer spirit.

To the volunteers from Samaritan's Feet SA and the Cornal Hendricks Foundation, thank you for rolling up your sleeves and serving with love.

To Wellington Primary School, Dalweide Primary School, Alfons Primary School, and Saint Albans Primary School, thank you for trusting us with your learners and for being part of this legacy.

And to Boland Rugby Club, thank you for opening your doors and your field to make this day possible.

Every pair of shoes. Every smile. Every moment of dignity. It happened because you showed up.

Cornal's legacy lives on because of you.

Thank you.
