An NPO founded in 2004. Based in Somerset West, Cape Town. We serve communities through an ECD, Children's Village & School (Gr R-matric).

We support 500 children with quality education, nutrition, trauma support, residential care & life skills training.

🌱 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬, 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬
Our gardeners in the ECD got their little hands dirty for a most enjoyable "Seeds of Hope & Friends” garden day, as part of our Mandela month project. Each child received their very own seed to plant — with a special plant labelled with their name. 🌱

It is a beautiful opportunity to learn that growth takes time, patience and plenty of tender loving care — just like our little ones.

Thank you to Louis Meyer, Linda Uys, Celia Scott, Lesley MacAllister and Maddie Mees for being part of this wonderful project, and to Annette Prins for coming every second week, sharing her knowledge and helping our garden flourish.

We cannot wait to watch our little plants bloom! 🌱💚🌞

👵👴 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗽𝗮𝘀 & 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 🪙
Our Grade 7 Market Day brought plenty of fun, with everyone getting to ditch their uniforms and channel their inner granny or grandpa for the day in order to support the Grade 7s.

They may have looked old, but the spirit was young and vibey! 🎉

This month, we are telling the story of our CYCC — the people who care for our children, the routines and relationships that create stability, the little moments that bring joy and the community that helps make it all possible.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲! 🎨🌈
Something special has been happening around our school as colourful wall art continues to transform the grounds into spaces filled with creativity and joy.

From messages of kindness, respect and inclusion to our school values, these artworks speak to our children every day as they play, learn and grow.

And one mural carries a particularly powerful message — our anti-bullying mural done by the Grade 6 group. It stands as a bold reminder of our commitment to creating a school environment where every child feels safe, respected and valued. The message comes across loud and clear through the art on the wall — there is no place for bullying here.🫱🏼‍🫲🏼

A huge thank you to Charlie Vittori and her amazing team, all the talented painters who have poured their time and passion into this project and everyone who played a part.💙

At Hope & Light ECD, we believe that when our educators grow, our children thrive.

Congrats to Abrameshia Daniels (Principal) and Tiffany Coetzee (Teacher), who completed MAPP Training with Masikhule as part of their ongoing professional development.

Masikhule’s MAPP stands for the Movement and Purposeful Play project, a joint initiative designed to improve safe physical play and gross motor development in Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers.

We are grateful to Masikhule for investing in ECD educators and helping build stronger foundations for children across our communities.

A shout out to the Erinvale golfers from Erinvale Country Golf Estate for their donation of R12,000, which enabled us to install a new fence around our ECD play area.

This fence is more than just a boundary. It is an investment in the safety and wellbeing of our youngest learners, giving them a secure space to play and explore with confidence.☺️
