THE SOUTH AFRICAN NAVY INVITES THE PUBLIC TO THE SA NAVY
FESTIVAL 2026 IN SIMON’S TOWN
The South African Navy (SAN) is hosting the SA Navy Festival, set to take place at the East Dockyard in Simon’s Town from 17 to 19 April 2026. The event is open to the public daily from 10:00 to 17:00.
During the Navy Festival visitors can look forward to the following events open to the public:
Static Fleet Review: 17 April 2026, 11:00, East Dockyard, Simon’s Town
Fleet Regatta: 17 April 2026, 12:00, East Dockyard, Simon’s Town
Right of Entry Parade: 18 April 2026, 09:30 for 10:00, Jubilee Square,
Simon’s Town.
Night Shoot: 18 April 2026, 16:00 to 22:30, Lower North Battery, Simon’s Town
Remembrance Parade: 19 April 2026, 08:30 for 09:00, Fleet Command Headquarters, East Dockyard, Simon’s Town.
Retreat Ceremony: 19 April 2026, 16:30, East Dockyard Simon’s Town
Arena Activities: 17-19 April 2026, 10:00-16:00,East Dockyard, Simon’s Town
There will be selected SA Navy Ships and a Submarine open for tours daily between 10:00 and 16:00. Entrance to the festival is free.
Due to the high volume of visitors expected, the SA Navy encourages the use of public transport. Metrorail will provide additional train services to Simon's Town during the festival. For those driving, Park and Ride facilities are available from Fish Hoek and Glencairn to alleviate traffic congestion.
There will also be road closures for the Right of Entry Parade practice and the main parade on the following days:
