On this Youth Day, we honor the brave students of 1976 who risked everything for a future of equality and dignity. Their sacrifice paved the way for the freedom we hold today.

At Summerhill House, we carry that torch forward by investing in the whole young person their safety, education, mental well-being, and most importantl their spiritual lives. Every week our dedicated Pastor Gift pours into our youth sharing the Word of God and leading them closer to Christ Jesus. We believe that true empowerment starts from the inside out, and there is no greater foundation than faith.

Yesterday, we gathered for our second Culture Journey a meaningful time to connect, reflect, and grow as a team. 💛

Over a shared breakfast, we celebrated our achievements, revisited our vision, and reflected on the journey so far. We enjoyed fun team games, lots of laughter, and moments that strengthened the bonds we share.

This year, our theme is “Light” ✨ a reminder to shine brightly in all that we do, to bring hope where it is needed, and to be a positive influence in the lives of those we serve and one another.

As we looked ahead, each team member set personal and professional goals to work towards until we meet again. We left feeling encouraged, inspired, and united in our purpose.

Here’s to being a light, growing together, and continuing to make a difference one step at a time.

This weekend, some of our young entrepreneurs had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the Little Legends Market at Ballito’s Farmers Market!

Accompanied by their moms, our children proudly ran their own stalls, showcasing and selling items they had made themselves. From setting up their displays to interacting with customers and making sales it was an incredible learning experience that helped build their confidence, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills.

The excitement on their faces said it all! They had such a fantastic time that before the day was even over, they were already asking, “When are we doing this again?” 😊

Experiences like these create lasting memories and give our children the chance to learn valuable life skills in a fun and supportive environment.

A very special thank you to Lisa and the Ballito’s Farmers Market team for reaching out to us and making this opportunity possible. Your kindness and support gave our children an experience they will remember for a long time to come. 💛

Different schools, but the same excitement when they see each other. 💛

One spends her day at Bloom and the other at Kingdom Kids, but as soon as they’re together, it’s all smiles, giggles, and playtime. Watching these sisters reunite each day is a beautiful reminder that some bonds don’t need words they simply pick up right where they left off.

What an incredible evening!

Sokkie Jol 2026 brought together friends, families, and community members for a night filled with music, dancing, and wonderful memories.

As our very first fundraising event, we could not have asked for a better turnout. The support shown by our community made the evening truly special and marked the beginning of what we hope will become a much-loved annual event.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening. It was wonderful to see so many people come together and enjoy the occasion. 💃🕺
