In a ‘learning by doing’ atmosphere individuals can strengthen their skills in a meaningful way that helps to promote life-long learners. Experiential learning can take on different forms, as a solo activity or as a collaborative effort. In a collaborative environment team members not only learn more about themselves and their communication skills, but those of others as well. As individual’s stre

ngths, weaknesses, and attitudes become apparent, they can be addressed and acknowledged, thereby creating a stronger sense of community. Experiential learning may begin with a set objective or goal that the learner wishes to accomplish, or tasks can be developed as the project progresses to accommodate the learners involved. Either form allows participants to take on new roles, discover new sources of information, and develop skills they may not have realised they possessed.

Too much screen time? Too little real life?

This December, Outward Bound South Africa is offering young people the chance to step away from the noise and into 10 days of real outdoor adventure.🥾⛰️

Our **Summer Camp Open Enrolment Programme** is designed for learners aged **14–16** and focuses on adventure, leadership, teamwork, resilience and personal growth.💙🤝

Participants will take part in activities such as abseiling, kayaking, canoeing, raft building, hiking, navigation, camping under the stars and team challenges.🧗‍♂️🛶⛺️🗺️

**Dates:** 12–21 December 2026
**Venue:** Willow Point, Sedgefield
**Cost:** R6,900 per person
**Includes:** 3 meals per day, activities, course gear, trained facilitators and certificate on completion.

‼️Spaces are limited and the course will be confirmed once minimum enrolment is reached.‼️

The mountain doesn’t stay behind; it just changes shape. 🏔️🏙️

The same grit that got you to the top of the mountain is exactly what moves you through the city streets. We don’t go into the wild to escape “real life”-we go to find the blueprint for it.

The terrain changes, but the heart stays the same. The adventure continues.

📢THE GREAT HEART PROJECT📢: UPDATE‼️

21 lives funded. 79 to go.🥾💙

We’ve reached R107,184 for The Great Heart Project, meaning 21 young leaders are officially funded to head out on their journeys. But the work isn’t done.⏳

In South Africa, a child’s coordinates shouldn’t decide their future. We have until May 31st to fund the rest of this cohort and reach our R500,000 goal.☀️
