📚 Awareness Campaign on Bullying

The Mkhondo Office of Mpumalanga Mental Health Society conducted an awareness campaign on bullying at Alpha and Omega School on 14 May 2026, reaching 92 learners.

The session focused on educating learners about the different forms of bullying, its impact on mental health, emotional well-being, academic performance, and the importance of creating a safe and supportive school environment. Learners were encouraged to speak up against bullying, support one another, and seek help when needed.

💙 Bullying leaves lasting emotional scars, but awareness, support, and early intervention can make a difference.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our stakeholders GRIP, DSD, CMR, DOE, SAPS, and SAVF for their valuable support and collaboration in promoting awareness and protecting the well-being of our children and youth.

Together, we can create schools where every learner feels safe, respected, and empowered to thrive.

🧠 Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

Living with Borderline Personality Disorder can feel like being on an emotional rollercoaster that never slows down. Intense mood swings, overwhelming emotions, fear of abandonment, unstable relationships, and feelings of emptiness can make daily life incredibly challenging.

Without proper support and treatment, individuals living with BPD may be at an increased risk of experiencing suicidal thoughts, self-harming behaviours, substance abuse, and even becoming vulnerable to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) due to difficulties with emotional regulation and unhealthy relationship patterns.

It is important to remember that BPD is a real mental health condition not a personality flaw or a sign of weakness. With counselling, therapy, support, and appropriate treatment, individuals can learn healthy coping skills, manage their emotions, and build stronger, more stable relationships.

If you or someone you know is struggling with intense emotions, unstable relationships, feelings of hopelessness, or thoughts of self-harm, please do not suffer in silence. Seeking help is a sign of strength.

💚 You deserve support, understanding, and healing.

🧠💚 MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act every day. Yet many men are taught to stay silent about their struggles, hide their emotions, and carry their burdens alone. This can lead to increased stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, and other mental health challenges.

This Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage all men to prioritize their mental well-being and remember that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of courage and strength.

Taking care of your mental health can be as simple as:
✔ Talking to someone you trust
✔ Staying physically active
✔ Getting enough sleep
✔ Eating a balanced diet
✔ Managing stress in healthy ways
✔ Spending time with supportive friends and family
✔ Taking breaks when life becomes overwhelming
✔ Seeking professional help when needed

Every man deserves to be heard, supported, and valued. No one should have to face life’s challenges alone. By speaking openly about mental health, we can break the stigma, encourage understanding, and create communities where men feel safe to ask for help.

Remember: It’s okay not to be okay. What matters most is reaching out, speaking up, and taking the first step toward healing.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please know that support is available. Together, we can build a society where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health.

💚 Your mental health matters. Your life matters. You matter.

Mpumalanga Mental Health Society was honoured to be invited to the Women’s Fellowship and Empowerment Initiative hosted by Thandeka Nhlapo under the theme “Rising Together.”

The event brought together women from all walks of life, including business owners, social workers, therapists, faith leaders, advocates, and community members, creating a powerful platform for networking, sharing knowledge, lived experiences, opportunities, and resources.

MMHS had the privilege of presenting on the importance of mental health, factors that influence mental well-being, practical self-care strategies, and the free mental health and psychosocial support services available to communities through our organisation.

It was inspiring to witness women connecting, empowering one another, and building meaningful relationships that strengthen our communities.

There is No Health Without Mental Health. 💚

💚 KHULUMA NDODA – MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DIALOGUE 💚

Today was more than an event; it was a movement towards healing, understanding, and breaking the silence around men’s mental health.

The Khuluma Ndoda dialogue was a great success as men from different backgrounds gathered in one space, willing to talk, listen, learn, and grow. Men shared their lived experiences, sought advice, engaged in meaningful discussions, and demonstrated that strength is not found in silence, but in the courage to speak.

Our speakers delivered impactful presentations on financial management, men championing change, and the importance of healthy relationships, communication, and spiritual growth. Throughout the session, one thing became clear: men are ready for these conversations. They are ready for healing. They are ready for restoration.

One of the powerful messages shared by Pastor Senamela was:

“If you have to do something that takes you out of your character, then it is not good for your mental well-being.”

This simple yet profound message reminded us of the importance of remaining true to our values, protecting our peace, and prioritising our mental wellness.

The success of today’s dialogue shows that there is a growing need for more spaces where men can openly discuss their challenges, support one another, and access information that promotes their well-being. These conversations should not only happen during Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month but should continue throughout the year in our homes, workplaces, churches, and communities.

As we build stronger families and healthier communities, we must remember that mental health is for everyone. We cannot focus only on women and children while neglecting the well-being of men. Every member of society has a role to play, and every person deserves support.

Thank you to all the men who attended, our speakers, Higher Dimension Ministries , and everyone who contributed to making this dialogue meaningful and impactful.

Together, we are breaking the silence, restoring hope, and creating a future where every man knows that it is okay to talk and brave to ask for help.

💙 Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who quietly carry the heaviest burdens.

Behind the words “I’m fine” may be stress, exhaustion, anxiety, or pain that no one else can see. Remember, you don’t have to face everything alone.

Your feelings are valid. Your struggles matter. And asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself and with someone you care about. A simple conversation can make a world of difference.

✨ It’s okay not to be okay.
✨ It’s okay to ask for support.
✨ You matter, even on the difficult days.
