The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) invites final-year animation students to participate in an exclusive creative showcase at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival & MIFA 2026, the world’s premier animation event, celebrating global animation innovation, held at Annecy, France, 23–26 June 2026.

Eligibility
• South African citizens or permanent residents
• Final-year students enrolled in animation, film, multimedia, or visual arts programmes
• Registered at an accredited South African tertiary institution.

Script Writing Workshop – Capacity Building for Unemployed Youth

*Overview*
A five-day intensive scriptwriting workshop for 40 aspiring and early-career writers.

Learn to develop compelling stories, structure scripts, and produce original drafts for film, television, radio, and theatre. Mentors provide practical, hands-on guidance to enhance employability.

*Who Should Attend*
- Unemployed youth
- Graduates
- ⁠Interested youths seeking to build scriptwriting skills
- ⁠Must have grade 12 or higher qualification

*What You’ll Learn*
- Core storytelling principles and script structure
- Character development, dialogue, and scene construction
- Industry-standard script formats and tools
- How to develop a complete script outline or first draft
Collaboration, peer learning, and constructive feedback

*What You Get*
- Five-day intensive training with practical tools
- Certificates of participation for all attendees
- Mentorship for top performers (top 3 scripts) with two follow-up sessions each
