The Sardine Run is here!
As shoals of sardines make their epic journey up the KZN South Coast, increased shark and whale activity follows close behind. To accommodate this incredible natural phenomenon, shark safety gear has been temporarily lifted at selected beaches.
Please take note of local beach signage, follow lifeguard instructions, and stay informed before entering the water.
It's one of nature's greatest spectacles – enjoy it safely! 🐋🦈 :::

HELP US MAKE A BETTER FIRST IMPRESSION
Keep Scottburgh Beautiful Association have been asked by the community to step in and clean up this embankment – removing all the rubbish, overgrowth, and restoring it to something we can be proud of again.

👍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀: PDM Group has agreed to do the full clean-up
💰 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁: R8,500
Now we need YOUR help to make it happen!

Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to transforming this space and keeping Scottburgh looking the way it should.

🔹 Donations can be dropped off at Wild Coffee (opposite the Blue Marlin Hotel)
☕ Pop in, grab a coffee, and support a great cause!

A big to Gladiator Security Services for their very generous donation of R2,000.00 towards this effort!

TODAY IS WORLD OCEAN DAY!
We are so fortunate to live in an area with such beautiful beaches and wonderful warm ocean waters!
In celebration of why not take a stroll along one of our gorgeous beaches, take in the views, breathe in the salty air and maybe collect little and clean the area along the way ❤

The UNESCO theme for 2026 is "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future"

This Day is an opportunity for individuals, businesses, and communities to deepen their understanding and take responsible action to protect our environment.

Everyone can help make a difference for our future:
🔹Reduce your Plastic Use: Replace single-use items with reusable alternatives, such as carrying a reusable coffee cup or investing in beeswax wraps instead of plastic cling wrap.
🔹Shop Local Fresh Produce or Grow your Own: Eating locally sourced or home grown fruits and vegetables even one day a week reduces carbon emissions associated with food transport
🔹Reduce Energy Consumption: Unplug appliances and chargers when not in use (phantom power can quietly drain energy) and switch to LED bulbs Energy Saving Trust.
🔹Rethink Your Commute: Whenever possible, walk, cycle, or use public transport for short trips to lower your carbon footprint.
