Metsimaholo Warns of Possible Water Shortages after Major Rand Water Pipe Burst

Metsimaholo Local Municipality said a major Rand Water bulk water pipeline burst in Bedworthpark, has resulted in the municipality not receiving any water inflow from Rand Water.

The municipality said at this stage the extent of the damage and the estimated repair completion time remain unknown.

"Should the repair process take longer than anticipated certain sections of Zamdela and Sasolburg are likely to experience water shortages due to reduced water availability within the municipal distribution system. Residents are urged to use water sparingly and only for essential purposes" said the municipality.

ONE DEAD, ONE INJURED AFTER DIESEL TANKER ERUPTS IN FLAMES ON R59 NEAR SASOLBURG

SASOLBURG – One person has died and another was injured after a diesel tanker and a light motor vehicle collided on the R59 between Sasolburg and Parys on Tuesday morning, causing the tanker to burst into flames.

Emergency services responded to the fire after the crash. One occupant of the light motor vehicle was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

A second occupant sustained injuries and received treatment from emergency personnel before being transported to hospital for further medical care.

The driver of the diesel tanker reportedly escaped the burning vehicle unharmed.
