✨ RECAP | JCI Sandton BIZHub Launch ✨

What an impactful day as we officially launched the JCI Sandton BIZHub — a platform aimed at accelerating youth-owned businesses while equipping young entrepreneurs with the business literacy and soft skills needed to thrive. 🚀

In reference to Global Sustainable Development Goal 5 of achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls, we are proud to announce the graduation of 26 newly qualified beauty technicians, empowering women and girls with skills and opportunities for economic independence. 💄💼

We are also excited to share that the 26 graduates will be incorporated into the JCI Sandton BIZHub programme, where they will continue receiving mentorship, business development support, and entrepreneurial training to help grow sustainable businesses. ✨

The day also marked the signing of an MOU with our valued partner, strengthening our shared commitment to entrepreneurship, empowerment, and sustainable impact. 🤝

🌍 Meet another distinguished speaker for tonights Agenda 2063 Webinar Series — Gustav Brink

Gustav Brink is a highly experienced international trade law expert specialising in anti-dumping, subsidies, safeguards, WTO dispute settlement, fisheries subsidies, trade negotiations, and legislative drafting. He currently serves as an extraordinary lecturer in mercantile law at the University of Pretoria, where he also supervises postgraduate research in WTO and international trade law.

With extensive experience across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and the Caribbean, Gustav has advised governments and institutions on trade policy, WTO accession, legislative drafting, and trade remedies. He has also worked as an investigating officer, consultant, and WTO panelist in international trade matters.

An accomplished researcher and author, Gustav has published widely on global trade systems and continues to contribute to policy development, training, and capacity building across developing economies.

Christian Kayembe is an accomplished academic, educator, and nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in education, research, governance, and community development. He is currently a PhD candidate in Public Management and Governance at the University of Johannesburg and serves as a lecturer within the School of Public Management, Governance and Public Policy.

He is also the founder and director of Classroom Buddies Organisation (CBO), a nonprofit dedicated to improving educational access and empowering underserved communities through impactful development initiatives.

Recognised locally and internationally for his contribution to youth development and education, Christian brings valuable insight on governance, leadership, and the role young people play in shaping The Africa We Want under African Union Agenda 2063. ✨

Under the theme:
“Agenda 2063: Governance, Finance, and Africa’s Development Nexus”

the discussion will unpack how accountable governance, strong institutions, and sustainable financing mechanisms can accelerate Africa’s growth, drive inclusive development, and shape The Africa We Want.

The session will also reflect on key issues facing the continent, including debt sustainability, unemployment, inequality, infrastructure financing, and institutional reform, while exploring how global and continental frameworks such as the SDGs and South Africa’s G20 engagements can support Africa’s development agenda.
