That’s what producer, artist, and facilitator Yimeeka hopes every participant took away from our collab lab in Lagos.

She was a key part of the magic, amazed by the talent and excited to see women from all over Nigeria come together to create.

The bonds and knowledge shared in that room are a testament to what we can do when we unite.

Creating spaces for young women in music, one room at a time 🤍

Our founder and former First Lady surprised 15 young women at a songwriting workshop at the Obama Presidential Center’s Media Suite.

They explored storytelling, self-expression, and collaboration through music, writing lyrics to the instrumental of “Free Mind.” Tems also shared her journey as an artist and the mission behind .

Moments like these are a reminder of what’s possible when young women are given the space to create.

For women in music, it often means finding your own path, staying grounded in who you are, and pushing through the realities that come with it.

And that is what our second panel in Johannesburg held space for, an honest conversation around navigating the industry, staying authentic, and carving out your own lane.

Inside the Vibe: The Masterclasses 🎵

We made magic in Johannesburg, and it started with our participants getting direct, unfiltered insight from industry leaders who’ve built careers in music.

Artists. Songwriters. Producers. Each group broke into their own sessions, asking their burning questions and learning what it really takes to navigate this industry as a woman.

Then, they came together in the studio and put everything they’d just learned into practice — collaborating, creating, and making music from scratch.

Real collaboration. Real music. Real community.
