Conor's first outpatient dialysis session today were good. Unfortunately his potassium levels are still high and are effecting his heart rhythm. He has been readmitted to hospital for the night for observation. They will test his potassium levels again tomorrow morning to determine if he will need an extra dialysis session.

Conor was discharged from hospital today. We have done a series of tests over the last couple of days. The medical team feels that Conor is under weight and they adjusted his fluid restrictions and diet. There is small areas of hemorrhaging in his brain caused by all the previous seizures but it would not affect Conors cognitive abilities in the future.
His blood pressure is finally under control as he is on new medications that is definitely more effective. Tomorrow he will start his first outpatient dialysis session. The medical team are amazing and Conor is starting to be more at ease with them.

We made a very difficult decision to bring Conor to the USA to receive treatment. We are greatful for the care and treatment he received in South Africa but we feel strongly that time for Conor was running out and that he needed more intense treatment.
He arrived earlier in the week in the US, tired very tired. He is currently in Boston Children's hospital in ICU. The combination of the long flight and his ESRD resulted in Conor having a seizure after dialysis. The medical teams are amazing, Conor was stabilized and he will receive additional tests during the next couple of days.

We are trying everything we can to keep Conor positive and encourage him to continue with the two dialysis needles. As his mom, I'm not above a little bribery if it helps him get through such a difficult treatment. Whatever it takes to help him stay strong and keep going.

This week, Conor's dad stepped in and took him to dialysis, giving me some much-needed time to rest, breathe, and recharge. 💚
Thank you Hennie for carrying this load with me. Your love, support, and willingness to step in means more than words can ever express. This journey isn't an easy one, but knowing we're walking it together makes all the difference.

Sadly, I have been deemed ineligible as a living donor for Conor. At this stage we are broadening our search to include potential donors of any blood group who are willing to donate a kidney to Conor. If you are interested in donating, please get in touch and we will send the Living Donor Questionnaire for you to complete. At present, we are investigating all possible options.
