🎓 The Countdown is On! CFA Institute Research Challenge – Local Final 2026! 🏆

Congratulations once again to our finalist teams:

🎓 University of Cape Town (UCT)
🎓 University of Pretoria (UP)
🎓 NWU - North-West University (NWU)
🎓 Stellenbosch University (SU)

After months of hard work, research and financial analysis, the teams will take centre stage at the CFA Institute Research Challenge Local Final, presenting their investment research and recommendations on this year’s subject company, WeBuyCars, to a panel of industry experts as they compete for the title of 2026 South African Local Champion!

We are delighted to announce the four university teams advancing to the in-person CFA Institute Research Challenge Local Final:

🎓 Stellenbosch University
🎓 University of Cape Town
🎓 University of Pretoria
🎓 NWU - North-West University – making it to the Local Final for the very first time! 👏

Congratulations to all four teams on this fantastic achievement and to every university team that participated in this year’s Research Challenge, thank you for your effort and dedication.

The finalists will now prepare to present and defend their research on WeBuyCars and recommendations at the Local Final on 22 October 2026.

📊 The reports are in – and the grading has begun!
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is in an exciting stage, with all participating university teams having now submitted their research reports.

Our graders are currently reviewing the submissions, and by the end of September, we will announce the four finalist teams who will advance to the CFA Society South Africa Local Final on 22 October 2026.

The finalists will have the opportunity to present and defend their research and investment recommendations before a panel of industry professionals.

🎉 Congratulations to Botswana’s newest CFA charterholders!

We are delighted to celebrate Bubuya Ncube, CFA; Keboetswe Letsholo, CFA; Oratile Molatlhegi, CFA; and Teko Mmolawa, CFA on this outstanding achievement.

It was particularly wonderful to see three women receive their CFA charters, an encouraging reflection of the growing representation of women within the investment profession in Botswana and across our region.

We are proud to welcome all four charterholders to the global CFA community and celebrate this significant milestone in their professional journeys.

The Botswana celebration forms part of a series of CFA charterholder recognition events across the SADC region, as we recognise and welcome our newest CFA charterholders.
