In the Tshwane Hub, we are committed to building the Hub as a safe space where everyone, regardless of nationality, is welcomed, heard and safe.
Xenophobia and afrophobia are not “just opinions”, it is violence against people’s dignity, safety and belonging. It turns neighbours into targets, blaming migrants for systemic failures, which deepens the divides of race, gender and class that already shape our country.
As a youth community committed to justice and inclusion, we affirm that:
📌 People on the move are human beings before they are documents or passports.
📌 Our struggles are connected. The fight for decent work, safety and public services is shared by South Africans and migrants alike.
📌 Silence is not neutral. When we ignore xenophobic and afrophobic language, organising or violence, we help normalise it.
As the Tshwane Hub we may be non‑partisan, but we are not neutral about hatred.
We stand with African migrants, refugees and displaced people in Tshwane and across South Africa.
