🇿🇦 YOUTH DAY 2026 🇿🇦

Today we honor the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of the youth of 16 June 1976—young people whose bravery helped shape the South Africa we know today.

As we celebrate Youth Day, we are reminded that our young people remain our greatest asset. Yet many continue to face challenges such as unemployment, poverty, lack of access to education, skills development opportunities, and entrepreneurial support.

At Nyatee Foundation, we believe that empowering youth is not only a social responsibility—it is an investment in the future of our nation. Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, lead, and succeed.

We call upon businesses, government institutions, development agencies, philanthropists, and community partners to join us in creating meaningful opportunities for South Africa’s youth. Together, we can provide skills training, mentorship, educational support, entrepreneurship programmes, and pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

The future of our country depends on the actions we take today.

Support youth. Empower potential. Build a stronger nation.

Happy Youth Day South Africa.

HAPPY CHILD PROTECTION WEEK

At Nyatee Foundation, we believe every child deserves to grow up in a safe, loving, and protected environment. Child Protection Week reminds us all that protecting children is a shared responsibility within families, schools, communities, and society at large.

Let us stand together against abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation of children. By speaking up, supporting vulnerable children, and creating safer spaces, we help build a brighter future for the next generation.

“Protecting children today secures the leaders of tomorrow.”

As our country continues to battle youth unemployment, poverty, substance abuse, illegal immigration, and service delivery frustrations, we are reminded that every social issue affects real families, real communities, and real futures.

Behind every protest is a hungry child.
Behind every unemployed youth is a broken dream.
Behind every act of violence is a community crying for hope.

At Nyatee Foundation, we believe that social justice begins with empathy, dialogue, empowerment, and active community involvement.

Let us build communities that heal, uplift, and protect one another.

Gender-Based Violence is NOT a woman’s fight alone.

It is a societal crisis affecting families, communities, women, and children every single day.

Women and children remain the most vulnerable and most affected victims of abuse, violence, and trauma in our society. Their safety, dignity, and future depend on all of us standing together against GBV.

At Nyatee Foundation, we believe the fight against Gender-Based Violence requires men and women, leaders, communities, churches, schools, and government to work together to break the cycle of abuse.

* Speak up.
* Protect women and children.
* Report abuse.
* Create safe spaces.
* Be part of the solution.

GBV Must End, Manje!!!

Our Deputy Chairperson further states that it is the responsibility of the entire community to protect mothers, even from their own partners, as we just celebrated Mother’s Day.

“Behind every statistic is a name, a face, and a family left shattered. Just days ago, Tembisa Ntonga was allegedly killed hours after filing for child maintenance. In Centurion, Chilkana Bhaktawer was shot to death, allegedly by her ex-husband. Nasiphi Dutywa, fearing for her life, died of poisoning alongside her baby.

Nyamek Nyusa was murdered with her son, allegedly by her boyfriend. And Kelebogile Joyce Seheri, a young mother, was also allegedly killed by her partner, leaving behind a small child. These women are not just numbers; they are mothers whose lives were cut short, their children robbed of love and protection.”

Our Deputy Chairperson on Mother's Day.

"Mother’s Day is often celebrated with flowers, heartfelt messages, and family gatherings. It is a day to honour the women who nurture, protect, and sustain households across South Africa. Yet, for far too many mothers, this day is overshadowed by fear, violence, and tragedy.

The harsh reality is that countless mothers are being murdered by those closest to them, leaving children orphaned and communities devastated. Protecting mothers cannot be seasonal; it must be a national commitment, 24/7, 365 days a year."
