The Matli Moleboheng Foundation (MMF) is preparing for a powerful new chapter with Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas.

From our recent engagement in Dallas to what comes next, we are moving from conversation to implementation—building practical pathways for South African students to access international exposure, academic opportunity, cultural exchange, mentorship and a truly global learning experience.

Paul Quinn’s “WE Over Me” ethos resonates deeply with the work we are building through MMF: education that develops not only graduates, but leaders, citizens and changemakers.

We are stepping into 2027–2028 ready to sign, activate and announce.

The meetings have happened.
The relationships are growing.
Now comes the work.

DALLAS, TEXAS 🇺🇸 | WHERE PURPOSE MEETS POSSIBILITY

One of my favourite parts of doing Dallas ✨ opening doors, building bridges and creating opportunities that travel far beyond borders. ✨

This time, I had the privilege of visiting Paul Quinn College, one of the oldest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States, and the second-oldest institution of higher education in Dallas.

What stayed with me most was their powerful motto:

“WE OVER ME.”

A simple statement. A profound philosophy. A reminder that education is not only about personal achievement- it is about what we build, who we lift, and the communities we transform together.

For the Moleboheng Matli Foundation (MMF), this visit represents another important step in creating meaningful education bridges between South Africa and the United States.

🇿🇦🤝🏾🇺🇸 2027 is already underway.

I am excited to confirm plans for an MMF visit to Paul Quinn College in 2027, with conversations advancing around admissions opportunities for the MMF 2027 intake and creating pathways for young African scholars to access global education, leadership and transformative experiences.

From Johannesburg to Dallas, the vision remains the same:

Create access. Open doors. Build bridges. Change lives.

Because when we choose WE OVER ME, the possibilities become bigger than any one of us.

🇺🇸🇿🇦MOLEBOHENG MATLI FOUNDATION × UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS AT DALLAS

The Moleboheng Matli Foundation (MMF) is proud to announce that, following a warm and engaging meeting with Dean Jason Garrett of the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas), the two institutions are advancing discussions towards a strategic partnership in principle focused on youth development, leadership, education and international exchange.

Among the opportunities under discussion is the proposed hosting of the MMF BoyChild Mentorship & Leadership Programme in Dallas for a 2027 Summer Camp, creating opportunities for young South African boys to experience education, leadership development, cultural exchange and global exposure.

The discussions are also exploring a reciprocal opportunity for a UNT Dallas group to visit South Africa in 2027/2028, further strengthening people-to-people and educational ties between our two countries.

For President Moleboheng Matli, the mission remains clear:

Turning Scars into Stars — with our boys and girls as our priority. ⭐

This is the beginning of what we hope will become a meaningful bridge between South Africa and Dallas, opening doors for the next generation to learn, lead and see beyond the boundaries of their circumstances.

More to come as discussions progress towards formalisation.

🇿🇦🇺🇸 MMF IN TEXAS | BUILDING BRIDGES. OPENING DOORS. CREATING OPPORTUNITIES.

The President of the Moleboheng Matli Foundation (MMF), Ambassador Moleboheng Matli, has undertaken a strategic working visit to Dallas, Texas, advancing high-impact engagements focused on expanding opportunities for South African learners and young people.

The visit has created valuable space for engagements with universities, educational leaders, women’s organisations, community institutions and strategic partners around pathways for our learners into academic programmes, summer initiatives, leadership development, entrepreneurship, innovation and global exchange.

For MMF, this is bigger than a visit.

It is about building bridges between South Africa and the United States and turning relationships into meaningful opportunities for young people.

Through initiatives such as the Africa Youth Exchange Scholar Program (AYESP) and the Foundation’s Boychild Mentorship & Leadership Programme, MMF is committed to preparing young Africans not merely to access global opportunities, but to participate confidently, learn across borders, build networks and ultimately contribute meaningfully to their communities and the continent.

Dallas has much to offer and MMF is determined to ensure that our young people are positioned to access those possibilities.

FROM LAUNCH TO LEADERSHIP.

One month after the successful launch of the Moleboheng Matli Foundation (MMF) BoyChild Mentorship & Leadership Programme, we are proud to have reached another important milestone — the Onboarding Ceremony.

The launch introduced the vision. The onboarding begins the work.

We are now moving from intention to activation, preparing our young boys for a structured 12-month journey of mentorship, leadership development, character, purpose and opportunity.

What makes this milestone even more meaningful is the growing network of mentors and leaders who will contribute from South Africa and across the world, bringing diverse experiences, knowledge and perspectives to the programme.

This is more than a programme. It is an investment in the young men we are helping shape today — so they can lead with responsibility, confidence, integrity and purpose tomorrow.

The foundation has been laid.
The mentors are coming together.
The journey has begun.

FROM THE TOWNSHIP TO THE WORLD: PATRICK BOKABA REMINDS OUR BOYS THAT SCARS CAN TURN INTO STARS. 🌍⭐

At the Moleboheng Matli Foundation (MMF) Boychild Mentorship & Leadership Launch, South African actor Patrick Bokaba delivered more than inspiration, he shared a lived experience.

Speaking about poverty, township life and the journey of overcoming difficult circumstances, Patrick reminded the boys that where you come from does not have to determine where you are going.

Coming from one of the very townships represented by the boys in the programme made his message especially powerful. He was not speaking from theory, he was a practical example of what is possible.

From township beginnings to becoming a leading South African actor whose work has reached beyond the shores of South Africa, Patrick showed the boys that circumstances can be challenged, dreams can be pursued and purpose can take you further than you imagine.

He didn’t just tell them that scars can turn into stars. He stood before them as proof. ⭐

🇿🇦 FROM STRUGGLE TO POSSIBILITY. FROM BOYS TO FUTURE LEADERS.

A powerful moment at the MMF Boy-Child Mentorship & Leadership Programme at Freedom Park Heritage Site & Museum as Dr Danisa E. Baloyi delivered the keynote address under the theme:

“From Struggle to Possibility: Building Character, Courage and Purpose for the Future.”

Drawing from her remarkable journey in leadership, Dr Baloyi challenged our boys to embrace education, discipline, resilience, character and purposeful leadership.

As Women’s Month comes to a close, her presence reminded us that empowering boys does not compete with empowering girls it complements it.

Our boys need strong women. Our girls need responsible boys. And our nation needs both to succeed together.

This is why we mentor.
This is why we invest.
This is why we build.

The Power of Choice | Pastor Joyce Lalamani

At the launch of the Moleboheng Matli Foundation (MMF) Boychild Mentorship & Leadership Programme, Pastor Joyce Lalamani delivered a powerful spiritual keynote reminding our young mentees that every choice carries a consequence, and every decision can shape a future.

As a spiritual mentor to the programme, she challenged the boys to develop the wisdom and discipline to make sound decisions, resist negative influences and understand the responsibility that comes with becoming young men of purpose and integrity.

Pastor Joyce Lalamani is the Lead Pastor of Tower of Grace Leadership Centre in Roslyn, Pretoria — City of Tshwane, a professional counsellor and former teacher whose work continues to speak to the development, guidance and transformation of young people.

Her message was clear: we may not always choose our circumstances, but we can choose how we respond to them.

Through mentorship, faith, accountability and leadership, we are equipping boys to make better choices today — and become responsible men who can help protect and positively shape generations tomorrow.

Blessed Sunday 🤍 | Born for a Time Such as This

This Sunday, the Moleboheng Matli Foundation reflects with gratitude on God’s faithfulness and the journey that has brought us to this moment.

The launch of our Boychild Mentorship & Leadership Programme during Women’s Month at Freedom Park Heritage Site & Museum was a deeply meaningful occasion. Having Pastor Joyce Lalamani, a spiritual mother and champion for youth development, stand with us as a speaker and supporter made the moment even more special.

Through Tower of Grace Leadership Church in Pretoria, generations of young people have been raised, guided and strengthened. Today, seeing a new generation of young people—around the same age many of us were when we first began our own journeys—is truly heartwarming.

God has a way of bringing us full circle.

We are born for a time such as this. The prayers, lessons and seeds planted in previous generations are now bearing fruit through the young people we are privileged to serve.

Thank you, Pastor Joyce, for continuing to raise, guide and stand for the youth. Your investment in generations continues to make a lasting difference.

May God continue to use the Moleboheng Matli Foundation as a leadership centre to raise leaders, restore hope and transform lives.
