"To create fundamental change, we, the members of society, have to transform ourselves. If we want real peace, we have to demonstrate our love and understanding so that those responsible for making decisions can learn from us."

-Thich Nhat Hanh (Love in Action)

Do the seeds that create conflict in society also exist within us?

The answer is yes.

Within each of us are the seeds of:

hatred,

anger,

the desire for power,

and the tendency to divide the world into "us" and "them."

As long as these seeds remain alive in individuals, old problems will continue to reappear in new forms, no matter how much the system changes.

That is why fundamental change is not only about changing laws or social structures.

It begins with a transformation of human consciousness.

If we:

fight violence with hatred,

oppose injustice with anger,

combat division with condemnation,

then the very methods we use already contain the seeds of further conflict.

Those in positions of power are not separate from society.

They, too, are products of the same culture,

the same fears,

the same ambitions,

and the same psychological conditioning as the rest of us.

If society is dominated by:

fear,

hatred,

and extreme competition,

it becomes very difficult for leaders to act differently.

But when more and more people live with:

mindfulness,

understanding,

compassion,

and the capacity to listen deeply,

a new collective energy begins to emerge.

And those responsible for making decisions are influenced by that energy as well.

The most effective form of social engagement begins with inner transformation.

If there is anger within us,

we will bring anger into our movements.

If there is peace within us,

we will bring peace into the world.

Today, we can begin with simple acts:

Listen to someone with your full presence.

Do not respond to anger with anger.

Act from understanding rather than reaction.

Cultivate compassion in everyday life.

When you do so,

you are not only transforming yourself.

You are helping to transform the quality of consciousness of society as a whole.

BREAKING: The Fed held rates steady Wednesday, but officials are no longer signaling cuts — and some now see higher rates ahead.

Kevin Warsh's first meeting as chairman ended with rates unchanged at 3.5%-3.75%, while policymakers dropped their previous outlook for a cut this year.

The updated projections suggest the Fed is prepared to keep policy tighter for longer, with several officials now anticipating the possibility of a rate hike in 2026 as inflation remains stubbornly above target.
