Today we honour the brave young people of 1976 who stood up for their rights and changed the course of South African history.

While their struggle was against oppression, today's youth face challenges of unemployment, poverty, inequality, and limited opportunities. Their fight continues in a different form.

At Ubuntu Legacy, we believe that empowering young people through education, skills development, and community support is key to building a better future for all.

This Youth Day, let us remember the sacrifices of the past by investing in the potential of today's youth.

At Ubuntu Legacy, we believe that no girl should miss out on her education because of her period.

Every month, thousands of girls across South Africa face the impossible choice between managing their period with dignity and attending school with confidence. No girl should have to miss out on her education because she lacks access to menstrual products.

At Ubuntu Legacy, we are committed to changing this reality through sustainable solutions that restore dignity and create lasting impact. Reusable sanitary pads provide girls with a reliable, long-term solution, helping them stay in school, participate fully in daily life, and pursue their dreams without interruption.

This image captures one of our menstrual health education sessions, where our Director, Ashley Adonis, demonstrated the correct use and care of reusable sanitary pads while engaging hundreds of young girls in important conversations about menstrual health and empowerment.

We are grateful to partner with organisations like Bidvest, whose commitment to community upliftment helps us reach more girls with the products, education, and support they deserve.

We cannot end period poverty alone.

Whether you are a corporate looking to make a meaningful social impact, or an individual passionate about creating change, we invite you to partner with Ubuntu Legacy. Together, we can provide sustainable menstrual health solutions, keep girls in school, protect their dignity, and create opportunities for a brighter future.

Join us in building a South Africa where no girl is left behind because of her period.

Buy a badge. End period poverty.
Keep her in school.

We are just over halfway to our goal of providing 350 Grade 8 girls at Realogile High School in Alexandra with reusable pads, and there is still time to make a real difference.

For R150, you can purchase an End Period Poverty badge, which provides a girl with 5 reusable pads that last up to 5 years, restoring dignity, confidence, and access to education.

Let’s finish what we started.
Let’s keep girls in school.

We had an incredible and successful Period Poverty Drive with Vault Strength Club🖤

The community truly showed up with generous donations of menstrual products and many members purchasing our End Period Poverty badges in support of the cause. We are deeply grateful for the love, energy, and action.

While Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Month may be over, period poverty is still a daily reality for far too many girls and women. That’s why the work continues.

Our goal is to provide menstrual wear for 350 Grade 8 girls at Realogile High School, and we are excited to be hosting this outreach in partnership with VSC during Youth Month. We are now just over halfway to our target.

There is still time to make a difference.

For R150, you can purchase an 'End Period Poverty' badge which provides a girl with 5 reusable pads that last up to 5 years, restoring dignity, confidence, and access to education.
