SAEF - is South African Energy Forum led by Ms Magie Sefike and Mr Themba Mafuya. It was registered in year 2018 as a non profit company (NPC) with the DTI. It's mission is to provide an enabling environment where diverse energy technologies and views of representative bodies and stakeholders on energy can find common ground on matters and issues pertaining to energy. The establishment of the foru
m was triggered by realising that some of the energy stakeholders felt being sidelined and left out of the South African Energy debate. Some of the goals of the SAEF are as follows:
1. To Promote a voice for diverse groups for the energy mix of South Africa.
2. To thrive to provide a common platform for diverse energy technologies stakeholders to find concensus on the right and economically responsible energy mix for South Africa.
3. To promote a spirit of friendliness but robust debate for different diverse energy technologies providers.
4. To be a vehicle and a representative of the often forgotten and underestimated stakeholders of the broader economy who often speak last when there is not enough time to contribute to the energy mix.
5. To be a vehicle to liaise with relevant government departments on matters of energy in the most friendly, professional and respectable manner.
6. To create the awareness for employment opportunities of the youth of South Africa.
7. To provide a platform for better alignment between government, business, labour and ordinary citizens.
