Today's I'm wearing my Viral Load tee proudly supporting World Aids Day under the theme βOvercoming disruption, transforming the AIDS responseβ. We support those living the virus. And remember the ones who lost their lives to the disease.
We are proud to be part of a generation that has access to not only healthcare, but access to information. We have fought and continue to fight the stigma. Together we stand. Divided we fall. Standing together against the fight of HIV/AIDS.
Here's some cool information to keep you upbeat with the world so far, around HIV/AIDS.
*Viral Load* refers to the amount of HIV in a person's blood. It's a key indicator of how well treatment is working and the risk of transmission.
*PMTCT* stands for Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission. It's a crucial aspect of HIV care, aiming to reduce the risk of HIV transmission from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding.
-PMTCT programs have significantly reduced mother-to-child transmission rates worldwide!
*PrEP* stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis. It's a medication regimen for people who are HIV-negative, taken to prevent HIV infection.
*PEP* stands for Post-Exposure Prophylaxis. It's an emergency medication taken after potential HIV exposure to prevent infection.
-If you've been exposed to HIV, seek medical attention ASAP to discuss PEP options.
REMEMBER ONLY CONDOMS CAN PROTECT YOU FROM STI/STD AND UNWANTED PREGNANCIES. STAY WOKE. STAY WISE. CONDOMISE.
