Since the 1st of January I have had over 700 new followers on my page so I think it is fitting I introduce myself.

My name is Alison Chadwick, I am 58 years of age and I live in Durban North. For the past 10 years I have been working for accountants in a tax department. Our offices are situated in the Point and this is how my tour guiding journey started. After work I'd drive around and take photos of different buildings then head to the reference library to learn more. It has now become a bit of an obsession.

From 1 April 2020 I will be a full time tour guide in the city of Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

I currently do 4 different walking tours:
Point
City
Florida Road
Maritime

From April 2020 I am introducing a one destination walk during the week.

I have quite a few corporate walks lined up, school groups, birthday groups and camera clubs.

I am a Level 2 Culture Site Guide with the eThekwini Municipality.

World Ship Society: Port Natal Branch

I belong to:
Mountain Club of SA

I am passionate about Durban, history including WW1 and WW2, architecture, new developments, art and culture. Oh and hiking and trail running.

And I organize trips to Nepal and Croatia!

Meet Mpume. (Many of the students call her “Ma” 😉)
She’s our WA4L facilitator here in Ballito.

She has a passion for her community and firmly believes she can give them the next steps needed so that they can realize they're responsible for their own success.

Her heart for the young people of our generation is that they may believe in themselves, use the resources that are available within their reach, step out of their comfort zone and be creative.

We are grateful for the investment she’s poured into the students at W4AL.

My head is spinning - what a wonderful journey this has been. I'm now a registered tour guide in the city so I have been working on some new walking tours which will commence from 2020!
I've had folk ask about vouchers as presents (Christmas) for my walking tours, I have my first company team building tour at the end of November, I've had birthday groups, school groups, photography clubs, hiking clubs, bookclub groups - my offerings are endless!
