We are saying NO to False Solutions to a Just Transition!

We voiced our opposition to industrial agriculture, factory animal husbandry, nuclear energy, uranium mining, gas, oil, and other detrimental "solutions" that endanger our livelihoods, communities, and climate on this Earth Day by marching to parliament to hand over a memorandum!

SAFCEI, Fossil Free SA, Project 90 by 2030, The Green Connection, African Climate Alliance, South Durban Community Environmental Alliance, Extinction Rebellion, Earthlife Africa, Green Anglicans, Masifundise and S**T submitted a joint memorandum demanding accountable, renewable energy solutions.

NERSA has approved significant electricity tariff hikes for Eskom, with an 8.76% increase for direct customers and a 9.01% rise in municipal tariffs set for the 2026/27 financial year.

When the regulator makes a mistake, the public should not be the ones who pay for it. The secrecy around the R54-billion settlement raises serious concerns about transparency, fairness, and accountability. Communities spoke during the MYPD6 process, their voices cannot be ignored.
