No eggs found so probably not related to the bunny.

Captured in Goldenmile, released safely in the veld.

Tiny baby Cape cobra hiding in bricks.

Good morning St Helena Bay!
What a weekend! Great weather, great people, tiny snakes!

This little new born crept into some bricks. Look at where I am searching and where ai eventually find it. Hands go past there multiple times. Luckily I am not snake food and snakes don't just attack people. At least not smart people. Have a great easter weekend 👌

🚨🐍 *IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTICE* 🐍🚨

Hi everyone,
I just want to inform the community that today we will be proceeding with the first phase of an environmental restoration project in St Helena Bay.

As part of this initiative, we will be releasing a number of puff adders and black mambas into selected greenbelt areas around town.

Before anyone panics — this is a controlled and intentional process aimed at:

• Restoring natural ecosystem balance
• Reducing rodent populations
• Discouraging unwanted movement through greenbelts
• Supporting a more “natural” security layer alongside our existing systems.

All snakes have been “carefully selected” and will be monitored as part of the project.

⚠️ *Important precautions for residents:*

• Please avoid walking in greenbelts today and over the next few days
• Keep pets under supervision
• Do not attempt to approach or interact with any snakes
• Be mindful when working in gardens or walking at night
• Check shoes and outdoor areas before use

We understand this may come as a surprise, but this is part of a long-term vision for a safer and more balanced environment.
Further updates will follow once releases are completed.

Regards,
Marius van Vuuren

Cute little egg eater hiding in a swimming pool net.

This very (un)friendly guy was removed from a storage room in Duykereiland.

Released in a lush area with lots of water and birds, which should mean food. Hope he has a great time in his new home.

baby Kaapse kobra.

As jy dors is, is jy dors!

Molesnake in the dunes.

This morning we got a call for a snake basking very close to a home and they were concerned about the species.

I went to investigate and positively identified it as a mole snake, knowing this they were happy for us to let it go just a little further.

Cape Cobra caught in a bathroom.

This tiny danger noodle slithered its way into the main bedroom. The dog alerted the owner. When she realized she was dealing with a snake, she called and I asked her to put a towel infront of the door and just wait for me.

Caught the snake with just the tube, no hands, no tools, no risk :-)

Some snakes are just very easy and when presented with a dark tunnel to escape down its all to happy.
