The Rustenburg Sisterhood โ€“ SACBW (South African Council for Business Woman), recently hosted its first official networking event following the successful launch of its Rustenburg branch.

The event was honoured by the presence of Provincial Leader Alita du Plessis, whose attendance added significance to the occasion. Guest speaker Charlene Davids delivered an inspiring presentation on emotional intelligence, leaving members and special guests feeling empowered, motivated, and encouraged. The event was held at the elegant GrowthPoint Church, symbolizing a new chapter of solidarity and growth.

Corporate member Labournet also contributed valuable insights and support, further enriching the event experience.

Monthly network marketing events will be hosted as part of the Rustenburg Sisterhood, inviting all women in business to join this dynamic business growth movement. These events aim to foster collaboration, expand networks, and support women entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses.
To get involved, please contact the Local Business Leader, Dannaline Coetzee, at [email protected] or visit our website www.sacbw.org

The next event will take place on 10 June and will focus on the important theme of self-care.

This successful gathering marked an important milestone in building a strong, connected, and empowered community of women in Rustenburg.

In celebration of International Women's Day and our monthly theme, resilience, we would like to share the following article with our SACBW sisterhood and friends.

Resilience is not accidental โ€” it is intentional.
While we canโ€™t always control the storms, we can strengthen how we respond to them. Here are five practical ways to build resilience in your life and leadership.
________________________________________
1. Reframe the Narrative
Instead of asking, โ€œWhy is this happening to me?โ€
Ask, โ€œWhat is this teaching me?โ€
Shifting perspective turns struggle into preparation.
The challenge you face today may be equipping you for tomorrowโ€™s opportunity.
________________________________________
2. Strengthen Your Roots Daily
Resilience grows in consistency.
โ€ข Protect your mindset (limit negative input).
โ€ข Build daily discipline.
โ€ข Invest in spiritual or personal growth practices.
Small daily habits create deep internal strength.
________________________________________
3. Allow Discomfort โ€” But Donโ€™t Stay Stuck
Growth often feels uncomfortable.
Discomfort is not danger โ€” it is development.
However, resilience also requires reflection. If something keeps repeating, pause and ask what needs adjustment.
________________________________________
4. Turn Pain into Wisdom
Journal your lessons.
Seek mentorship.
Process before reacting.
When you extract wisdom from wounds, you prevent them from defining you.
________________________________________
5. Build a Support System
Resilience is stronger in community.
Surround yourself with women who:
โ€ข Speak truth.
โ€ข Encourage growth.
โ€ข Celebrate your wins.
โ€ข Support you in setbacks.
You donโ€™t have to be strong alone.
________________________________________
Final Sister Reminder
Tough times never last โ€” but tough people do.
And toughness is not hardness.
It is rooted strength.
It is flexible courage.
It is rising โ€” even when itโ€™s hard.
Always choose to deepen your roots.
Choose to grow through what you go through.
Choose resilience.
