In recognition of academic excellence, the Tinyiko Shivuri Foundation awarded the top 5 students in Grade 7 from 18 primary schools in the Rustenburg region for the first term. Marwale Tshepiso of Platinum Primary School ranked second.

The Tinyiko Shivuri Foundation Grade 7 Term 1 awards ceremony recognized Kgope Tlamelo from Paardekraal Primary School in Sunrise, outside Rustenburg, as the top learner, achieving an impressive 94%.

Tinyiko Shivuri Foundation Grade 7 Top 5 awards for term 1 in 2026.The 18 Primary schools around Rustenburg participated in this project.We want to encourage impoved academic performance among learners through recognition and rewards.Learners who receive little recognition for academic effort are more likely to exert minimal effort in order to progress to the next grade.This initiative seeks to address this challenge by consistently reinforcing that academic excellence is valued, recognized, and rewarded.
