Book launch attendees were left highly excited! Our administrator, Kelebogile's Emelda Lebo Molusi Vote of thanks quickly turned the closing of a programme into a celebratory session - Lu-The-Booklover gets the young and the old excited.

Program Director Profsv Tema Steered The Snapping of Fingers Into The Blue Couch Q&A Session

Joined by the Anthologist of Mandela In Young Voices, Karabo Mosimane, the program director had her best time as they engaged in a relaxed conversation covering:

1. The Curatorial Vision (unifying thread, selection process, the narrative arc & the "kill your dealings" dilemma.
2. The Literary Landscape (reflecting of the times & role of the editor(s).
3. Craft & Production (The tension of form, permissions& logistics & introductions)
4. Impact & The Reader (The takeaway & reaching the public).

What meant to be a Q&A session became a real conversation about the process it took the appointed team to compile the poetry anthology.

Readings by 4 Writers Turns Into A Poetry Slam

The Core Presentation-Readings by Thuto Tshalatsi, Omphile Modiselle, Temoso Modise & Luana Chauke turned into a poetry slam. The 4 learners from 4 secondary schools amongst the 11, namely Bafokeng, HF Tlou, Keledi and Sunrise View Sec demonstrated the skills imparted in them by the Literacy Skills Development Group through the speaking workshops that were hosted during the Literacy Lifestyle Project.

Mandela In Young Voices photography team perfectly captured an event arrival where every guest flawlessly delivered on sophistication and poise fashioned style. What a memorable time for the both the parents and learners from 11 secondary schools within the Rustenburg Local Municipality and 1 from Thabazimbi Local Municipality.

Mandela In Young Voices poetry anthology book launch concurrently officiates the book as a fundraising tool targeting R2million which will go towards the set up of Bokwadi Education Fund which will offer the 67 contributors tuition fees towards their tertiary education in 2031.
