I grew up listening to songs that taught us how to stay ALIVE.

Songs about condoms, about faithfulness, good health, safety ,about knowing your status. The radio CARED. The TV cared. Our legends were teachers, not just entertainers.
Now I turn on the radio and my heart breaks.

I hear songs that make our young girls think raw is brave and that having 4 partners is power. Songs that glorify alcohol, drugs, and s*x without consequence. And mainstream media pushes it every day because it "sells" — because it's "commercial."

My sisters, my brothers are still dying. Not because we don't have medicine — we do. But because we stopped singing the truth.

Is this really what commercialism means? Selling our health for streams? Selling our future for views?
As Undefynd Musiq, I refuse to make music that kills my own people.
And to those who assume Dancehall is all about that — you have never listened to my Dancehall.

My Dancehall is healing. My Dancehall is power. My Dancehall is consciousness wrapped in a riddim you can w**e to, but with a message that can save you. That is what the Dancehall Evolutionist came to do.

We need to bring awareness back to the airwaves. And it starts with my pen.

Being a music brand doesn't necessarily mean being a product.

When they say "as a musician, you are a brand," it doesn't mean you must treat yourself like a pack of salt. You are not an object with no mind.

A brand is your story, your sound, your message, your values. A product is just something to be bought, used, and thrown away.

As artists we have a mind that works:
- we decide what we stand for
- we decide what we say
- we decide what to wear, what we release, and when
- we are not just packaging, we are people with cognitive functions

They want us to be easy to consume rather than being easy being easy to respect.
We are not a commodity.
Your music is your brand, but YOU are not a product.

Comment if you think artists should be respected as people, not just consumed as products.
