Well done to the District's 3 newest Springbok recipients. Matthew (FLSS), Luke (Protea Ridge) and Mia (Discovery). They recieved their certificates at Saturdays Parade along with the Regions other candiates. We are super proud of you all.

We would like to take today to take a moment to thank all our Adult Members for giving up your time for the fantastic Youth Members in the West Rand. There have been tons of events lately and tons coming up in October again. We often don't see and appreciate the work that goes on behind the sences. So thank you to the amazing people that make it happen.

Every time we wear our Scout scarf we know we are about to learn new skills or gain amazing experiences. On the 1st of August , Scouts and Scouting Alumni wear their Scout scarves in public to make the “Spirit of Scouting” visible.

"What does your Scout scarf mean to you?"

We would like to hear what wearing your Scout scarf means to you? Does it bring back Scouting memories? Do you feel proud to be part of a Scout Group? Does it represent the completion of a personal challenge, like First Class or Woodbadge training?

Wear your Scout scarf in public on the 1st of August and share what your Scout scarf means to you when asked about it, and also on your social media. Share a photo and a comment, or a short video online, tag us, or send SSA a WhatsApp on 068 069 9463!

Happy Mother's Day to all our West Rand Mother's. We appreciate all the work you do for our Meerkats, Cubs, Scouts and Rovers. We also appreciate our Scouters that are Mother's. May you all have a blessed day.

Last weekend some of our Scouters from Discovery and Horison took part in the Troop Scouters Adveture. They had so much fun and even met up with Drangonfly who has become part of 55th Pta as their new TS and has not lost her Sea Scout Skills. We are glad that you gents had so fun and we hope more of our Scouters join on the next one

On Sat 22nd Feb, our District came together to celebrate Founders Day. Gold Star Awards, Leaping Wolf Awards, PLTU Certificates and Gold Star awards were hand out. Linda Koekemoer from FLSS got her Den Scouter Warrant. Jane Plested-Smith from FLSS gorgeous her Pack Scouters Warrant. Megan van Heerden from FLSS got her Troop Scouters Warrant. Stuart Baker and Yvette Baker both got 10 year long service Awards. We are super proud of all the hard work that has gone into our District. Both from our Youth members and our Adult volunteers. We appreciate all of you.

Also a bug thank you to our Gilwell committee. And our STM's for organising this event and it running so smoothly and Suzuki West Rand for the amazing sponsorship of the event. And to Dream Team Catalyst for the activity that was planned.

This past weekend (1 and 2 Feb) we had our 5th annual Stripes camp. This is for our TL's, PL's and APL's to have fun, learn and get to know each other. It was very well attended with 18 kids and 6 Scouters present. We had an indoor campfire (thanks to the rain), a very well run Scouts own amd some very well run HTI's. We are very proud of our Scouts.
