It' s been an incredible year filled with community spirit and meaningful projects.
We sincerely thank all the vendors and supporters who make Our Village Market on the square possible every first Saturday of the month.
Your support has truly made a difference, helping us fund many of our community initiatives through stall leasing and gazebo rentals. A special thanks to Swartland Tourism for kindly storing our gazebos.
In February, we launched a heartfelt collaboration with The Cinnamon Bun project to start a food kitchen.
Anna and Trudie, who live in Esterhof, do an amazing job running it, feeding an average of 90 children each Thursday. In September, we proudly opened a second kitchen in New Rest Valley, where around 100 children are fed every Friday.
Thanks to wonderful donations from members of our valley, we' ve also secured a food kitchen on a local farm, ensuring children in need continue to receive support and nourishment.
March saw us hosting a joyful Long Table fundraiser at Eden, which helped us provide stationery and school clothing for children in the Kickstart programme, greatly boosting their school attendance.
On Friday afternoons, The Kickstart Academy is bustling with activity, as their two coaches work with the children. We' re happy to support them by providing sandwiches and juice, and we extend heartfelt thanks to Rotary Riebeek Valley for their generous support, supplying food for the children every last Friday of the month.
We' re also grateful for the community' s generous support of our clothing donation programme. Special thanks to Pick' npay and Swartland Tourism for offering their spaces for our donation boxes. Thanks to everyone' s kindness, we' ve been able to support the kids of the Kickstart programme in May and again at the start of December.
