Riebeek Valley Community Projects breaks the cycle of begging by helping children thrive, not just survive.

Through soup kitchens, sports, and coaching, we create lasting change. Join us in investing in a brighter future for our Valley’s youth! 🌿

For our Annual Riebeek Valley Treelighting ceremony 2026 Christmas project, Riebeek Valley Community Projects and Kasteel Kreative are coming together with an exciting vision:
To transform what many consider discarded items into dazzling treasures for the Annual Treelighting ceremony , all while embracing the powerful themes of RECYCLE, UP-CYCLE, and RE-USE.
This year, our community's children will become joyful artists, turning what others might call 'junk' into festive ornaments and sparkling decorations, fostering a profound sense of accomplishment. Imagine the laughter as young hands carefully snip old video cassette tapes into shimmering garlands, or paint forgotten plastic cool drink bottles and humble plastic bottle caps into vibrant stars and angels, gently showing each child that with a sprinkle of imagination and a dash of effort, everyday items can be given new life and beauty. Ultimately, this project is more than just making decorations; it’s about igniting sparks of creativity and self-worth, empowering our youth to see the boundless potential in both the world around them and within themselves, proving that a little ingenuity can illuminate not just a Christmas tree, but also a brighter future for our valley.

Swartland Library, in collaboration with Riebeek Valley Community Projects (RVCP), is thrilled to host an engaging holiday program for the wonderful children of the Kickstart Academy program. 🎨📚

While we are busy organizing a week of learning, growth, and fun, RVCP will be stepping in to ensure the children are provided with a nutritious lunch each day. But to make this initiative a true success, we need YOUR help.

Small team. Big heart. Lasting change. 🌟

When we started the journey of Riebeek Valley Community Projects, we had one goal: to support those who need it most in our beautiful valley.
From the buzz of The Village Market on the Square to the quiet, vital work of our soup kitchens, we’ve seen firsthand that when the community comes together, miracles happen.

Every Friday, you’ll find us on The Square with the children from The Kickstart Academy. We see their confidence grow as they learn, play, and share a meal. Over the last year, we’ve watched school attendance numbers climb—a direct result of your generosity and belief in these kids.

However, our resources are stretched thin. To keep these programs thriving, we are calling on our community to help us expand our reach.

Will you join us?
Whether you can volunteer at The Village Market or provide a financial contribution, you are the reason we can keep the fires burning and the classrooms full.

Tonight is the final night our Christmas tree will shine brightly on the square in Riebeek Kasteel, until the spectacular Tree Lighting Ceremony toward a the end of the year. A big thank you to everyone who made this possible!
We’re already dreaming of an even bigger, more dazzling Lighting Ceremony, with the whole village coming together to light up the season. Get in touch to help us make this event even more unforgettable — planning is underway!

We would like to William and Hannelie from Hermon Street for winning the trophy with their incredible Christmas light display. This event will become an annual celebration, and we’re excited to create a Festival of Lights in our valley, attracting visitors from near and far to admire our stunning Christmas displays.

It' s been an incredible year filled with community spirit and meaningful projects.

We sincerely thank all the vendors and supporters who make Our Village Market on the square possible every first Saturday of the month.
Your support has truly made a difference, helping us fund many of our community initiatives through stall leasing and gazebo rentals. A special thanks to Swartland Tourism for kindly storing our gazebos.

In February, we launched a heartfelt collaboration with The Cinnamon Bun project to start a food kitchen.
Anna and Trudie, who live in Esterhof, do an amazing job running it, feeding an average of 90 children each Thursday. In September, we proudly opened a second kitchen in New Rest Valley, where around 100 children are fed every Friday.

Thanks to wonderful donations from members of our valley, we' ve also secured a food kitchen on a local farm, ensuring children in need continue to receive support and nourishment.

March saw us hosting a joyful Long Table fundraiser at Eden, which helped us provide stationery and school clothing for children in the Kickstart programme, greatly boosting their school attendance.

On Friday afternoons, The Kickstart Academy is bustling with activity, as their two coaches work with the children. We' re happy to support them by providing sandwiches and juice, and we extend heartfelt thanks to Rotary Riebeek Valley for their generous support, supplying food for the children every last Friday of the month.

We' re also grateful for the community' s generous support of our clothing donation programme. Special thanks to Pick' npay and Swartland Tourism for offering their spaces for our donation boxes. Thanks to everyone' s kindness, we' ve been able to support the kids of the Kickstart programme in May and again at the start of December.

Lastly, we are proud to have organised the beautiful Valley Tree Lighting Ceremony, with the wonderful support of
