The House of Shalom – Ikhayalethu Child & Youth Care Centre & Siyabonga Shelter had the honor of hosting our Annual General Meeting for 2024/2025.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been a part of our journey from our dedicated staff, board members, partners, and volunteers to our generous donors and community supporters. Your unwavering commitment and support make it possible for us to continue creating safe spaces, nurturing care, and brighter futures for the beneficiaries we serve.

We were also greatly encouraged by our Guest Speaker, Mr. Nkululeko Mthiyane, who reminded us of the importance of staying focused. He also inspired us with valuable insights on farming and the many ways it can enrich and sustain our lives.

Thank you for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping us carry hope forward. Together, we are making a lasting difference.❤️

As our team spent a day out with the community it truly turned out to be an informative and powerful discussion encouraging women not to tolerate gender-based violence. Through sharing, many realized that GBV is not only experienced outside the home but sometimes within even through abusive behavior from their own children.
The gathering was also a celebration of womanhood 🙌🏽 honoring the vital role women play in their families, homes, and communities. A special moment of silence was observed in memory of the late community leader, Mrs. Mcoyi, whose tireless work changed many lives. Women then broke into song, celebrating her life and legacy. 🌸
The day was all about sharing ideas, learning, raising awareness about GBV, and strengthening knowledge of the shelter’s services. Together, we continue to stand for safety, dignity, and empowerment. 💜

The House of Shalom proudly hosted our GBV Fundraiser Tea on 9 August 2025, and it was nothing short of inspiring! ❤️😊

This was more than just an event ,it was a powerful platform for women to stand together, share their voices, and empower one another in the fight against Gender-Based Violence.

We had a great program filled with heartfelt words from our passionate Social Worker and the courageous testimony of a GBV Survivor, reminding us that healing and change are possible. There were fun games and interactive participation that brought laughter, connection, and joy to the afternoon. Our ladies shared encouragement, strength, and hope proving once again that when women come together, incredible things happen.

We are deeply thankful to every single person who made this event a success from our amazing hosts who sold tickets and created stunning tables, to the attendees who came with open hearts and generous spirits. ❤️

We rise by lifting each other and together, we are unstoppable.
